Why I support the death penalty for the first time a person murders someone: so they don’t have a chance to do it again.
Like Joseph Ebron, who is finally being sentenced to death after committing his third murder in the last 15 years.
Jurors sentenced a Washington, D.C., man to death Monday for the murder of a fellow inmate at the federal prison in Beaumont.
Joseph Ebron, 30, was found guilty of helping with the May 7, 2005, stabbing death of Keith Barnes. It was the third murder Ebron’s has been convicted of in the last 15 years.
Ebron reacted violently to the announcement, according to federal prosecutors Joeseph Batte and John Craft, leaping to his feet, screaming obscenities and tossing a water pitcher in Batte’s direction before he was tackled by U.S. marshals.
Of course he did. It’s the only way this piece of shit knows how to react to the world around him. Which is exactly why the death penalty is the answer — it’s the only way to protect other inmates, guards, and prison medical and administrative staff from this man’s violence.
This story also illustrates why I think “life in prison” is a suitable alternative to the death penalty — just because a man is locked up, doesn’t mean he can’t keep killing.
Sadly, he’ll probably be on death row for another 15-20 years before his execution is finally carried out.
In the most recent killing, jurors heard, Ebron restrained Barnes while another inmate, Marwin Mosley, stabbed Barnes in the chest 106 times for reportedly testifying against a mutual associate. Mosley later killed himself in prison, a defense attorney said.
If we’re lucky, Ebron will follow Mosley’s example and kill himself in his cell sooner rather than later.

This guy committed his first murder at the age of fifteen and his second murder at the age of seventeen. He was not “rehabilitated” by serving time for these previous offenses. What he had within him that allowed him to kill a fellow human being remained within him from the first victim, to the next, and to the next. It just goes to show that those who are capable of committing murder as a juvenile will become even more capable of it as they grow older.

I knew funky and he was a killer.
