It is important to share stories about those who have fallen in service to their country -- not only so that their memories can be properly honored, but also because their acts of selflessness are inspirational and serve as a good example for us all.

Pat sounded like such a mature young man with wonderful qualities, the very salt of the earth. It is heartbreaking to contemplate the magnitude of all he, and others like him, sacrificed -- he was a very young man with his entire life ahead of him.

I agree that the very best way to honor him, and others like him, is to live well while remembering them and all they sacrificed -- and to never lose sight of why they made such a sacrifice.
