Tell Gov. Perry to Call a Special Session on Voter ID

From an e-mail from Safe Texas:

Dear Supporters of secure and fair elections,

You’ve probably heard by now that Voter ID is dead for this session because of the delay tactics (“chubbing”) of the House Democrat Caucus, which blocked it from coming to the floor.

Three polls about Voter ID have been taken in Texas in the past 10 months. All three showed that Texans, Democrat and Republican across all ethnicities, overwhelmingly support Voter Photo ID.  The Democrats shut down the Texas Legislature in order to prevent a commonsense, popular bill from even being discussed on the House floor.

The only way Voter ID might be saved is if Governor Perry calls a Special Session and puts Voter ID on the agenda. Otherwise, Voter ID won’t have another chance until 2011.

Action:

  1. Call Governor Perry and ask him to call a Special Session for Voter ID.
    • Citizen’s Opinion Hotline:  800-843-5789
    • Office of the Governor Main Switchboard: 512-463-2000
  2. Contact your State Senator and State Representative and tell them you want a Special Session for Voter ID. This is important because the legislators are the ones whose lives will be affected by having to return to Austin. Governor Perry likely will take some political heat for calling the Special Session, and it’s important he know he has the support of the legislators.

Have I mentioned lately how much I hate Democrats and how absolutely worthless I think they are?

The only real reason to oppose Voter ID is to help people who are likely somehow or another not allowed to vote (or not allowed to vote more than once) to circumvent the legal voting process. With the help of groups like Obama’s ACORN. And these types of people are much more likely to vote Democrat than they are Republican.

  1. What’s to stop illegal aliens from getting a fake voter id? Is it really a sound answer for stopping this illegal activity?

  3. Robbie, the bottom line is that Texas Democrats understand that it will be LaRaza and ACORN who is out taking the census. The Democrats don’t want anything that will prevent them from turning Texas blue in the next election cycle and redistricting will certainly happen as more and more illegals are registered to vote in Texas.

One thing that needs to happen; our Texas laws for registering to vote need to be changed. When you can use a damn library card or a utility bill receipt to register to vote, that is just flat out wrong.

Most people think that you have to be a citizen to register. Nope. Bill Clinton took care of that with the MotorVoter Act. Perhaps you should publish on your blog the requirements to register to vote in Texas. If people understood how lax the rules are, they would be really, REALLY pissed.

    • I’m glad the donks can pat themselves on the back for ruining any summer plans the state legislature had, only to have the new I.D. law pass anyway.
Another example of the leftist/islamist alliance, they both love being martyrs.
