Barack Hussein Obama

Boycott ABC News and Its Advertisers

abc_obama_logoI wrote yesterday about the love affair between the MSM (except for Fox News) and B. Hussein Obama.

But it’s worse than that — the MSM media (most notably: MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NPR, The NY Times, AP, and Reuters) — are in bed with the President. They can no longer make any claims to objectivity or unbiased reporting. They are actively helping push the President’s agenda and his image. They are no longer questioning him, his policies, or his motives. They are burying stories that might be harmful to The Won or his administration, and they are helping to squash any opposing view points.

The problem is that it’s not just us rightwing-whack-jobs who are making this claim. Far left sites like Gawker are noticing.

Even the most unhinged Liberal moonbat in the media, Dana Milbank,  has taken note:

Pitney asked his arranged question. Reporters looked at one another in amazement at the stagecraft they were witnessing. White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel grinned at the surprised TV correspondents in the first row.

The use of planted questioners is a no-no at presidential news conferences, because it sends a message to the world — Iran included — that the American press isn’t as free as advertised. But yesterday wasn’t so much a news conference as it was a taping of a new daytime drama, “The Obama Show.” Missed yesterday’s show? Don’t worry: On Wednesday, ABC News will be broadcasting “Good Morning America” from the South Lawn (guest stars: the president and first lady), “World News Tonight” from the Blue Room, and a prime-time feature with Obama from the East Room.

Never has a man of such little substance been built up by so many. But that’s how we’ve ended up with the American Idol President.

Tonight, ABC is running a prime-time Infomercial for the President’s health care take-over proposal. Despite the Left being all for the Fairness Doctrine when it comes to silencing right-wing talk radio, ABC is refusing equal time to anybody who might want to counter Obama’s claims on health care reform.

ABC has refused to even accept paid advertising from groups who oppose the President’s plan.

Boycott ABC Advertisers

I quit watching anything on CBS after Dan Rather and Memogate. I’ve now added ABC to that list. But I’m going to take it a step further this time — I’m going to start boycotting ABC advertisers too, and make sure they know about it and know why.

My friend Dr. Melissa Clouthier, writing at Right Wing News, is all aboard the ABC Boycott train, too, and has pointed me to this list of ABC advertisers (via Bookworm Room).

The United States of America is still a capitalist country.  The marketplace can speak loudly — and in this case it should.  All Americans who are opposed to a major media arm becoming a visible branch of the presidential political machine should take a vow that they will boycott any products advertised on ABC News.

This boycott should be bipartisan.  It’s not about the health care agenda.  It’s about keeping a free media.

ABC advertisers and their contact info via Ironic Surrealism who says, “Jam their contact boxes so full they’ll be forever digging them selves out. Bombard them!”

And these via Bookworm Room:

Here’s a sample note you could send to the advertisers:

I noticed that _______ is an advertiser on ABC News. I, and many other hardworking American taxpayers, are boycotting ABC News and its advertisers due to is upcoming broadcast from the White House regarding Barack Obama’s government-run health care plan. I hope you will reconsider your advertising support of ABC News. If not, I will not be purchasing your products any longer.

________

I found this hilarious DailyKos post from 2006, when they complained about ABC:

…this is about a network using the PUBLIC AIRWAVES to spread outright right wing propaganda.

I’m hearing crickets from the DailyKos right now when ABC is spreading outright Left Wing propaganda.

  2. Other than some NCAA football games in the fall, I never watch this excuse for a network, anyway.
    I will write their advertisers.

  4. I guess you will have to boycott Fox News as well for being in the tank for Bush when he was the president.

  5. ABC’s White House special struggled for viewers.

The one-hour ABC News special “Primetime: Questions for the President: Prescription for America” (4.7 million viewers, 1.1 preliminary adults 18-49 rating) had the fewest viewers in the 10 p.m. hour. The special tied some 8 p.m. comedy repeats as the lowest-rated program on a major broadcast network.

I don’t think it was a boycott that caused this lack of viewers, but the boring liar that is the current resident of the White House.
Meahwhile, FOX continues to be the second most watched cable channel…period…in the prime time slots, for the most important demographic, 18-50.

  6. I think we need to have a new political party – how about the TEA party? Repubs and Dems reach across the aisle and pass laws that hurt the country, will probably put in another legislative judge, and pay banks generously for ruining the economy.

We do not need 12 year presidents. Dems remember there is Jeb Bush waiting in the wings, Repubs remember John Dean is waiting in the wings!
