Sen. Franken Bill Would Provide Service Dogs for Disabled Veterans

Credit where credit is due: Al Franken’s bill: Service dogs for disabled veterans

Amidst all of the power-grabbing, freedom-stripping, spend-it-like-it-grows-on-trees legislation being passed in Congress these days, it’s nice to see something positive and worthwhile coming out of Congress.

Kudos to Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) on this:

Franken’s legislation, which is an amendment to a 2010 military funding bill, would require the Department of Veterans Affairs to create a pilot program to train at least 200 service dogs through nonprofit organizations and give them to veterans with physical and mental disabilities.

I don’t think there’s ever “enough” that we can do for the men and women who paid so much for so many.

Providing our disabled veterans with every resource we can to help make their lives better is the least that we can do.

  1. Agreed, kudo’s to Al Franken’s bill. But, what else will be in this bill? It’s unlike him to come up with something so simple.
