It's always funny reading some smarmy leftards comment, that marginalizes the efforts and hard work of so many. At the same time acknowledges he believes there are actual elites in society, without understanding that they are self-anointed elites.
Mark must envision himself as somehow being above it all, and an elitist in his own mind.
Also, it must be noted that Mark hasn't read or understood Atlas Shrugged, and instead must have pieced together his knowledge from leftard blogs.

Set in a near-future U.S.A. whose economy is collapsing as a result of the mysterious disappearance of leading innovators and industrialists.

It's always funny reading about people wanting to "go Galt". The underlying idea (from Ayn Rand) was that if the most productive members of society withdrew from society, society would collapse. In this case, however, the people who talk about "going Galt" invariably are low-level cubicle dwellers and Palin proles (am I repeating myself?) whose contributions to society wouldn't be missed. One doesn't see very many members of the economic, cultural, social or intellectual elites of society going to Tea Parties or talking about "going Galt", after all. But Walter Mitty fantasies are fun for some members of our society, I guess.

If I said in a public posting how I feel about Comrade Obama, I would be arrested by the Secret Service. I do know this though, if Thomas Jefferson were alive today, he would body slam Obama and most of the congressional leadership. It would not be a pretty sight.

Dianne, the destruction is the whole idea. You see, Obama told us in his books where his mind is. He readily accepted the friendships of those who were far left, who believed in social revolution by destruction of the government that we were given by the Founding Fathers. It has been ingrained in him that you can build an egalitarian society through governmental dictats and control.

He believes in the prolitariat/politburo system. The few controlling the masses because the few know what is best for the masses. It is really basic tyranny cloaked in compassion.

Is it too late? I have called, written, marched at Tea Parties and still the train speeds on right past us. I don't know what else to do.

I am also convinced Obama is a Marxist. We are witnessing the destruction of the greatest country on earth.

When the leviathan has comsumed everything around it, it can only start consuming itself.

That, Robbie, is what our government has become; an insatiable monster that will only begin to eat itself to its death.

There can be no doubt that Obama is a Marxist, although he would change the dialog to read communalist, egalitarian, progressive.

Funny, that the code name for one of the two most famous spies and traitors to our nation, Julius Rosenberg, was L-I-B-E-R-A-L. And the liberal, the progessive, the egalitarian, must always have an enemy to fight or they will have no power. So they, in true Alinsky style who understood the advantage in picking an enemy to rouse the masses, will chose Big Oil, Big Health Care Insurance Companies, Big Coal, Big CEOs, Big (name the next target) because to win one fight for egalitarianism, must lead to another fight. There is no utopia, so the fight can never end.

The purpose of the fight is not equality but power. Even Alinsky realized that and so he taught that it is not unjust to gain great wealth if it leads you to the power to control, and dictate, to the masses. Obama has learned that lesson well; a man of wealth who will not share that wealth in true Marxist style, but who will use that wealth, and consequently the power that wealth brought him, to do for others [redistribute their wealth] that he will not do for himself. Why should he? Without the wealth and the wealth of others, he would not have the power.

I forsee a day when this nation has another revolution. I see a day when the working class, the doers, once again revolt against not only the power class but the leeching class, as well. They will go John Galt.

And without their labor, their ideas, their endeavors, the nation cannot continue and they (we) can only hope to rebuild out of the ashes of a society that was the last great hope of mankind. As I once heard a immigrant from Great Britian say "If people can no longer seek freedom in the United States, where will they then go?"
