For those who haven’t had the opportunity to find out what insidious government intrusions and takeovers are included in this bill, which the current resident of the White House is promoting, it will simply amaze you.
As a reminder of how atrocious this piece of legislation is, first the official chart of the House plan.

Hat tip to Vapig. Thank you!
There will be more, much more, on this outrageous Marxist scheme.

I didn’t watch or listen to this ass-clown last night.
One thing about him I can’t tolerate is the sound of his voice, and the ridiculous speech pattern he uses, so I look forward to Rush’s show, as he now runs liberal sound bites at double speed, which makes them almost tolerable.
However, many did suffer through it to see what he said, and to my surprise, even AP claimed he lied.
This proposal also is a reminder of the type of care My Belle advocated when she was at her old job.
The NY Post informs us of B-HO’s Broken Promises.
You are all racists and tools of the insurance companies. Government can do anything better than private (rape and pillage) industry.
Ok. Name one thing the government does better that is also done by the private sector. Go ahead. We’ll wait. Moron.
Did you even read the bill? Take a look! Know what you are talking about! Rich people are the ones that hire people! Noting is free in the life or should be! You will be 60 years old someday and are you willing to abide by the mandate of “Death Counseling” in lieu of treatment?
Leaping is easy when you have no sense!
I agree with you. But I don’t she understands how it works. Let her have one of her children become deathly sick and the doctors give the child a 20% chance to live unless the child receives an expensive operation and even then the child will have a 50-50 chance of living. What is she going to say to the “End of Life counselors” who tell her that its more “cost effective to take a pill” (Obama’s words, not mine). I wonder if she will wake up then and start checking out the facts….
Are you out of your mind. Government can run your life better than you can. Do you not use the brain you were given at birth? Boy, do I feel sorry for you. Please perch yourself on the White House steps see how long you’ll be there before anyone helps you honey. Hope you never get seriously ill because it will be your death sentence. Remember the government will not allow you to continue Dr or hospital visits, or can you not read either. Better revisit the sight and read again and again and again until it registers.
The US is made-up of complacent individuals who only want everything given to them! I wish people would read the damn bill and find out what the nut in the White House with all his Czars (Russia) are planning to do with this country.
Keep the faith and hopefully God will watch over us.
I’m sure that you are correct, but go to a Veterans’Hospital, anywhere in the U.S., and see if your opinion meets the reality check.
I do agree with you… We don’t take care of the veteran’s who have fought for our freedom and rights. I’m ashamed!!!
If you were not so foolish; your comment would be funny!
Well I am in my mid 80s and have been in elected offices for more than 40 of those yaers and so far I have found NOTHING that government can do as well as MOST in private industry.
Now the ONLY WAY that I could believe in any part of this ??health care system?? would be if every elected or appointed government oficial and their families INCLUDING the PRESIDENT were also were also REQUIRED to be covered the same way as we are.
If they were to put an amendment in the BILL HR 3200 that said that it would make me a little more comfortable.
You can read the bill as written if you go to “HR 3200 GOV.” Yes it is posted and if you read it then MAYBE you would have some idea what you are talking about.
Also NO ONE should ever vote on a BILL thatthey have NOT READ all the way through.
Leroy Gamble themtnman@toast.net
Do you really believe that? You can’t be that blind. If you do, I have some ocean front property in Arizona that I would love to sell to you. I would rather think that you have never done any research to make sure what you hear is TRUTH or LIE. We warned you and all of the other die-hard kool-aide drinking liberals that Obama is a Socialist in sheeps clothing. Maybe he fooled you but he didn’t fool us. Do you know why he didn’t fool us? Its because WE RESEARCH THE THINGS HE SAYS TO SEE IF IT TRUTH OR LIE. Try it sometime. Maybe you will learn something.
Sorry…I was so bewildered by her comment that I forgot to sign in.
Obama Tells 14 Healthcare Lies!
That’s all?
Must have been a shorter info ad than normal.
I get sick of Obama talking crap about the healthcare system. He acts like if we are a third world nation instead of the country with the most advanced healthcare in the world. What a fucking idiot that creep is.
Health Commissioner Would Answer Only to Obama, Otherwise Unchecked.
“Evidence has shown that government officials in other countries have used this power to deny access to needed treatments on the basis of cost.”
My Medical Ethics professor, who is a practicing cardiologist, brought up an example like this in class. He has personal knowledge of a specific case in Great Britain in which the government healthcare system refused a patient needed treatment on the basis of cost. The patient had to come to the U.S. for treatment.
This is a very important ethical issue. It is imperative that people are aware of the possible ramifications involved in the healthcare reform and that this issue, along with many others, are seriously addressed and averted.
This bill should not even be called Health Care; it is “The Older Americans Genocide Act” and will allow this stupid Muslim shoe shine boy to get rid of everybody who opposes his agenda, in a few short years!
Someone finally calls this SPOOK what he is. He has an ax to grind and it was obvious from the get go, and now here it is, kids. This mother fucker is out to ruin this country. Imagine the damage he can do in four years. Get out and vote his freakin henchmen OUT in 2010.
Denial of treatment and effective drugs is common under the NHS. Also, a patient receiving chemotherapy obtained another drug out of the country that was effective but the NHS would not pay for it. She paid for it out of her own pocket. As a result, the NHS refused to treat her anymore. They won’t pay for effective drugs and they punish you if you pay for them yourself. Death must be egalitarian. If others can’t buy the drugs, why should you be able to and live? The goal of obamacare is to turn US healthcare into the NHS nightmare.
Leading Blue Dog Democrat: Pelosi Does Not Have the Votes for Health Care Reform.
From the beginning its been previous administrations ultimate fault that illegal immigration has never been retired. Years of neglect and intentional overlooking of the laws that were in place? It’s grandiose excuse to allow the 20 million plus illegal immigrants to stay on American soil. Congress when enacted the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) of 1986 has been flagrantly ignored. The IRCA toughened criminal sanctions for employers who hired illegal aliens, denied illegal aliens federally funded welfare benefits, and legitimized some aliens through an amnesty program–EXCEPT THESE LAWS NEVER WERE ENFORCED?
There has always been complicity since the earliest days, between the lawmakers, big business, the open border zealots and radical pro-immigration and anti-American sovereignty organizations. Just like the Globalist they have an attitude that American taxpayers should accommodate every illegal family, with free medical care, schooling and a comfortable prison cell, for criminals and for the thousands of illegal alien drunken drivers every year. That globalist agenda has always been a free movement of cheap labor, between all of South America, Canada and Mexico, just as secretly arranged with the 3 countries leaders in Waco, Texas, at the end of March 2005.
Americans only forceful action is to build on E-verify, but not to replace it? Sen. Charles Schumer, D-New York and chairman of the Senate Judiciary subcommittee on immigration wants consider up-grading the application, with modifications to authenticate the employee’s identity by using a specific and unique biometric identifiers? Schumer, stated “improving employment verification is critical to boosting public confidence about curbing illegal immigration, which will build support for comprehensive immigration reform.” These politicians just don’t get it? Outside of the American Civil War, there will be a battle over giving illegal immigrants a path to citizenship free-ride? What about the millions of people with integrity and believe in the Rule of Law, who sit and wait in far off foreign countries for an entry visa?
Whatever the outcome it will not be easy to pass any Immigration reform or AMNESTY? Say–NO– because it going to cost trillions of dollars (with a T) in enactment. Health care, Pensions, retirement and a rush on government benefits, for those who haven’t already cheated the system. Then they will want their immediate families here? And waiting millions will swarm the open areas of the sovereign border fence? IT WILL NEVER END? Call your Politician today at 202-224-3121 GOOGLE—NUMBERSUSA, AMERICANPATROL for facts, that will not be found in most press releases.
[editor:shouting is unnecessary]
Thank you for the facts and amen! After corporations, the rich folk leave this country and anyother sane person, the government will only have their illegal aliens left and lets see what a dictator Obama will be!
Great writing and I will write the legislators. Thanks again
We as Americans and Christians need to PRAY that the LORD above will never allow this to pass, and if it does may HE have mercy on all of us!!! Please PRAY,PRAY,PRAY!!! We as a nation was founded on God and we must remenber IN GOD WE TRUST!!
Cathy…it is a benefit…if you don’t want to set up your wishes, you don’t have to. Or you can have your lawyer draw up your wishes, or don’t state them. You are not forced to. Most hospitals offer you forms to fill out your wishes. The gov’t does not plan this for you…they tell you your options. The gov’t does NOT make any of these decisions.
If I were you I would read that again as it is mandatory counseling every 5 years. Your elederly love one will get exactly what the assigned Doctor or assistant has submitted for approval to the government agency.
Cathi, I am not trying to be a smartass but I did read it again and i simply do not see what you see. We are now talking about our values here..i do not see the words you say are there. Where are they? What lines? And the doctor does not decide what your health care directives are…you do. I have issues with some of this entire plan, but truly don’t see this agenda here. My grasp is that they are truly trying to get people to voice their wishes…I had one elderly, very sick aunt who wanted to be resuscitated at all costs. and she was again and again. My mom wanted a DNR, and that is what happened with her. We paid lawyers for this. The government is presenting your options. If I could truly see what you say it says” all elderly are REQUIRED to have end of life counseling, and the doctors will choose for you what is best for you” i would be a million percent opposed. It just doesn’t say it…even if it just said the first part, I’d be opposed. Can you show me where it says it or is that simply an interpretation. Again, I am not trying to be jerky here, ok. Thanks
Sherry, I don’t know about you, but having the Secretary of Health oking what I can and can’t have in regard to my health is bizarre and what I found interesting is the Defense Department is thrown. This Bill to me describes limited care and only if it is ok’d through a mountain of paperwork and government agencies. I do not and will not for as long as I live trust the government. They screwed up Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. There is no efficiency in government and this will cost us with not only more taxes, but with our freedom and our lives. This type of legislation is only the beginning and health care will be rationed, elderly will be slowly denied care by the plan and then from existence. I do not want a physician counseling me on the end of life and would be offended by that. I work in government, I know how it works and believe me if this passes it will the sorriest day for every legal citizen in America.
Here is my interpretation of the following lines in the bill:
PG 425 Lines 4-12 Government mandates Advance Care Planning Consultation. Think Senior Citizens end of life
Pg 425 Lines 17-19 Government will instruct & consult regarding living wills, durable powers of attorney Mandatory!
PG 425 Lines 22-25, 426 Lines 1-3 Government provides approved list of end of life resources, guiding you in death
PG 427 Lines 15-24 Government mandates program for orders for end of life. The Government has a say in how your life ends
Pg 429 Lines 1-9 An “advance care planning consult” will be used frequently as patients health deteriorates
PG 429 Lines 10-12 “advance care consultation” may include an ORDER for end of life plans. AN ORDER from government.
Pg 429 Lines 13-25 – The government will specify which Doctors can write an end of life order.
PG 430 Lines 11-15 The Government will decide what level of treatment you will have at end of life
Pg 469 – Community Based Home Medical Services=Non profit orgs. Hello, ACORN Medical Services here!!?
Good luck and God bless!
By the way I am an Independent and have no affiliation with either party!
Shelby it appears that youas most haven’t read much of the so called health care bill or you would know that what you said was all aflse.
Go to HR 3200 GOV. and you will be able to read the about 1085 pages then MAYBE you will have at least a little idea what you are talking about.
You like most on both sides just pick up on what you have heard and try to use it as GOPEL.
Well an uninformed opinion is worse that NONE AT ALL.

Surprise, Surprise – Congressional Budget Office has flipped their cost anyalysis of the Health Care – Command visit to the White House and presto numbers change! Now it affordable. Please read on!
The Congressional Budget Office estimates that the latest version of a bipartisan Senate Finance Committee bill would cost under $900 billion, giving the negotiators a boost as they try to complete a health care package this week.
The CBO returned the estimate last night on the bill, which would cover 95 percent of Americans by 2015 and would be fully paid for in the first 10 years, Finance Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) said.
“The report is encouraging,” Baucus said. “The bill would actually reduce the federal deficit in the 10th year by several billion dollars. In addition, employer–sponsored coverage increases over the life of the program.”
Depending on the final details of the bill, the cost could go as low as $750 billion to $800 billion, sources say.
Senate negotiators have struggled for months to pare down the price-tag of the overhaul while still trying to cover all Americans. As the economy continued to falter through the summer, lawmakers grew increasingly wary about passing a reform bill that topped $1 trillion.
Baucus has said his goal was to get a bill under $1 trillion mark – and by virtue of the lower cost, he would attract more Republican votes.
The lower cost estimate would make it harder for Republicans to characterize the bill as a bloated Democratic initiative.
However, Democrats will want to know what programs or subsidies were cut in order to get the smaller estimate. Liberal Democrats have been concerned that in order to produce a cheaper bill, Baucus could sacrifice broad access and affordable insurance for low- and moderate-income families.
Baucus said the current draft of the bill does not include several key outstanding issues, but declined to specify what those were.
The bill is expected to include health insurance cooperatives – but not the public insurance plan favored by President Barack Obama. It is not expected to include mandates on employers to provide insurance, in favor of a so-called “free rider” provision that would require employers to pay if their employee get government help with insurance.
The package will also include significant measures that would lower the rate of health care costs, such as taxing insurers that offer high-end plans.
The bipartisan group of six Finance Committee senators reconvenes later this afternoon, followed by a Democratic-only meeting of the Finance Committee.
Despite the progress, Senate aides took pains Wednesday morning to tamp down talk of a quick compromise.
Russ Sullivan, staff director for the Senate Finance Committee, sent an unusual e-mail this morning to top Senate staffers, telling them not to believe the hype: A health care deal is not imminent, despite what a Washington Post headline Wednesday suggests.
Sullivan actually goes out of his way to suggest that a bipartisan agreement is still a ways off.
“In fact, significant policy issues remain to be discussed among the Members, and any one of these issues could preclude bipartisan agreement,” Sullivan wrote. “Members will continue their methodical work.”
[...] as a watchman in the body of Christ. The comments by RJ are Rick Joyner’s comments from Peter Fleckstein’s explanation of the bill in page/line [...]
I have not read all of the bill, so will only respond to the one i have read every line of sec1233 regarding the end of life provisions. I do not know if you are deliberately misleading people on this provision, or don’t understand it. If you want, you will have the right to have a discussion with your doctor about end of life wishes, your health care choices and wants…yours. My family did this, all of us, but we have to pay an attorney a boat load of money to set up our wishes(called a health care directive) For us, we want our wishes carried out, and not someone else to decide for us. Can’t see a thing wrong with this..is a wonderful option. If you don’t want it, don’t have the discussion.
Better read 1233 again! The doctor has to get prior approval from the government with explanations as to why the treatment is warranted! You want govenment on your mom’s death bed?
Cathy,
Thank you for sending me the specific lines. now have a copy of the whole section. One on the things that intrigues me about all of this (once we take out those on both sides who refuse to think or are unable to think beyond their party) is how 2 reasonably intelligent folks can see this so differently. Yep, I am complimenting both of us. I can see that you truly do see this as an order, and I truly see it as something that is being offered, a benefit that you can take or not.I did not see any words that said a person was forced to have these end of life discussions. Lines 12 thru 23 seem to say they are giving out info , including legal service organizations. So, I am not sure I approve of this bill yet, but not for any of the areas here. To me, these benefits are good, especially for those who can not afford a lawyer. So, Cathy from NJ, thank you for a thoughtful discussion, for disagreeing without being a jerk. By the way, I am a moderate to slightly left Democrat (fiscally more conservative, socially more liberal )from Oregon, the first state that allows assisted suicide.
Here is an informative piece, from a few days ago.
Useless Eaters.
Sherry, I found this article that summarizes what this health care bill is about and how it will be a controlling factor in how we will live our lives in this country.
If this is put into law it will be mandatory!
TOP 10 REASONS OBAMACARE IS WRONG FOR AMERICA
1. Millions Will Lose Their Current Insurance. Period. End of Story: President Obama wants Americans to believe they can keep their insurance if they like, but research from the government, private research firms, and think tanks show this is not the case. Proposed economic incentives, plus a government-run health plan like the one proposed in the House bill, would cause 88.1 million people to see their current employer-sponsored health plan disappear.
2. Your Health Care Coverage Will Probably Change Anyway: Even if you kept your private insurance, eventually most remaining plans—whether employer plans or individual plans—would have to conform to new federal benefit standards. Moreover, the necessary plan “upgrades” will undoubtedly cost you more in premiums.
3. The Umpire Is Also the First Baseman: The main argument for a “public option” is that it would increase competition. However, if the federal government creates a health care plan that it controls and also sets the rules for the private plans, there is little doubt that Washington would put its private sector “competitors” out of business sooner or later.
4. The Fed Picks Your Treatment: President Obama said: “They’re going to have to give up paying for things that don’t make them healthier. … If there’s a blue pill and a red pill, and the blue pill is half the price of the red pill and works just as well, why not pay half for the thing that’s going to make you well.” Does that sound like a government that will stay out of your health care decisions?
5.Individual Mandate Means Less Liberty and More Taxes: Although he once opposed the idea, President Obama is now open to the imposition of an individual mandate that would require all Americans to have federally-approved health insurance. This unprecedented federal directive not only takes away your individual freedom but could cost you as well. Lawmakers are considering a penalty or tax for those who don’t buy government-approved health plans.
6.Higher Taxes Than Europe Hurt Small Businesses: A proposed surtax on the wealthy will actually hit hundreds of thousands of small business owners who are dealing with a recession. If it is enacted, America’s top earners and job creators will carry a larger overall tax burden than France, Italy, Germany, Japan, etc., with a total average tax rate greater than 52%. Is that the right recipe for jobs and wage growth?
Who Makes Medical Decisions? What is the right medical treatment? And should bureaucrats determine what Americans can or cannot have? While the House and Senate language is vague, amendments offered in House and Senate committees to block government rationing of care were routinely defeated. Cost or a federal health board could be the deciding factors. President Obama himself admitted this when he said, “Maybe you’re better off not having the surgery, but taking the painkiller,” when asked about an elderly woman who needed a pacemaker.
7.Taxpayer-Funded Abortions? Nineteen Democrats recently asked the President to not sign any bill that doesn’t explicitly exclude “abortion from the scope of any government-defined or subsidized health insurance plan” or any bill that allows a federal health board to “recommend abortion services be included under covered benefits or as part of a benefits package.” Currently, these exclusions do not exist.
9.It’s Not Paid For: The CBO says the current House plan would increase the deficit by $239 billion over 10 years. And that number will likely continue to rise over the long term. Similar entitlement bills in the past, including Medicare, have scored much lower than their actual eventual cost.
10.Rushing It, Not Reading It: We’ve been down this road before—with the failed stimulus package. Back then, we also heard that we were in a crisis and that we needed to pass a 1,000-plus-page bill in a few hours—without reading it—or we would have 8% unemployment. Well, we know what happened. Now, one Congressman has even said it’s pointless to read one of the reform bills without two days and two lawyers to make sense of it. Deception is the only reason to rush through a bill nobody truly understands.
Listen to what they say put most important is what they do!
I am a Independent Conservative and fiscal aware of waste!
Sherry: You are unaware that a woman received a letter from the Oregon State Healthcare System that they would not pay for her chemotherapy but would pay for her doctor assisted suicide? Disgusting.
Actually, Sherry, the elderly would be required to have this counseling, not a right.
While I would agree that more people need to plan for end of life, that should be left to the families, their doctors, and maybe a lawyer. Having a bureaucrat standing in the door before you get to see a doctor is not an improvement.
This legislation, as written, is one of the most invasive government programs ever devised, as intended.
The current president stated his goals were health care reform, energy, and education. Each intrusive, and far too expensive.
thx for your comment. I have in my hands a copy of HB 3200 sec 1233. There is not one mention that you are required to take this consult. Not one..nowhere. The mandatory part is for this insurance program HB 3200 Section 1233 to offer it. All policies, whether it be Kaiser, or Blue Cross, list the benefits. That is all they are..benefits, what is covered. When there are some very legitimate issues about this bill, and for the life of me, I can not understand why people are worried about stuff it does not say. Is it fearmongering, confusion, or what.
Sherry, read down past where the practitioner consults with the patient, and where the Secretary enters into the equation. This counseling is required, and not an option.
As for the term “useless eaters,” in the event you haven’t learned where that term came from, it came from the Obama web site.
I happen to know this gentleman, and he has acknowledged much of what is posted above.
No 2 liberals…thx for the link…i read it, but again, the problem is that it just isn’t true. I would be deeply opposed to some gov’t official telling me I must appear for any kind of exam, including this. But I am not opposed to someone offering me that benefit. Part of the bill in this section provides people with national and state resources, including hot lines, state legal service organizations, etc ( pg 425 lines 12 thru 18
But not a soul is required to attend any consultation if they don’t want to. It simply does not say that. apparently, folks are assuming that is the intent.
again, thanks.
Sherry, no problem, but when it states “every five years,” that’s a mandate.
thx again..l appreciate having reasonable, civil disagreement. Guess we will agree to see it differently. I see pg 426 line 16 where it says” the treatment wishes of the individual will be carried out”.( in that case, they are talking about someone who may no longer be able to communicate. Also the every 5 yr thing is the same deal…they have the right to have this consultation every 5 yrs. The mandate is on the insurer not the person. And i sure hope you are wrong about some of the other stuff. Another interesting fact is that all insurers make decisions about what is covered what is not. People die every day because an insurer deems something experimental.Don’t know if this bill is the answer but I am one who thinks something needs to happen. Thanks for the conversation n 2 liberals.
Medical cost are so high due to the fact that we as the insure are paying for illegals who receive regular treatment this also includes schools! If illegals are sent back this country would benefit with great in many way!
What a bunch of rubbish! This is nothing but propaganda.
I would welcome an honest debate from the Right but it doesn’t appear that conservatives are capable of being honest anymore.
So tell me, conman, why are the majority donks having so much difficulty getting this through the house?
Honest debate, indeed. Ask Rep. “Nostrilitis” Waxman about honesty.
I take issue with your statement about the left, but resorting to them all being dishonet is rather harsh! Have you heard of “Acorn” now there is some interesting skeltons in that closet and it so happens it all leads back to Obama! Dishonet, smoke screens, look at the mans’ cabinet and his Czars – tax evaders, criminals, communists, but don’t take my word. Do like I did and actually did researched, read the mans’ books and wow what an eye opener! Take out the ear plugs, take off the rose colored glasses and find out exactly what his Czars are paid, how many are there in this corral and what they are there to do. You will be surprised!
Clean up what we have Social Security, Medicade, Medicare. You do understand that this bill was not intended to cover the needy right?
Independent in NJ
Cathy, thx for that one article listing the 10 reasons the plan is bad. Of those, #’s 1,2, 3, and 9 are my issues. See, I knew we could find some common ground! The stuff about #4 the feds picking your treatment? I have Medicare due to a disability. It is a govt insurance, and other than it being underfunded, it is great insurance. The feds do not pick your treatment, ever. Just like any insurance policy, certain things are covered and some aren’t. So far, they haven’t been trying to kill me off, and unfortunately I am costing them a lot to keep me going. Those are the kind of fears people have that I think are over the top. I agree thought, that if their is a public option, it would be cheaper and would put most insurance companies out of business. Unless of course, they lowered their premiums and decided to forego their 150% profits like they made last quarter.
Madame: You are either an idiot or a Republican tool. Your ignorance is great and you logic is non-existent.
70% of high school drop outs voted for obammy. You must be one of them, Twat-wanna.
Remember knowledge is power!
(Washington, D.C.) – The Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW) today condemned the billions in pork-barrel earmarks that are contained in the healthcare reform bills currently being crafted on Capitol Hill. According to reporter Michael Kranish of The Boston Globe, both the House and Senate versions contain language that would fund billions of dollars in pork-barrel items such as walking paths, streetlights, jungle gyms, and farmers’ markets, which proponents are describing as an attempt to upgrade “health infrastructure” and transform communities.
“It is appalling that members of Congress have withheld critical details related to some of the most important and costly aspects of this bill, grossly misrepresented the economic assumptions underlying their cost estimates, and refused to commit to giving taxpayers a reasonable amount of time to review a new law that could disrupt 18 percent of the economy,” said CCAGW President Tom Schatz. “Yet they found time to cram the bill with billions of dollars in self-serving pork-barrel items for boondoggles such walking paths and farmers’ markets.”
According to The Boston Globe article, the language to fund these pork-barrel items “was inserted at the urging of a nonprofit, nonpartisan group called Trust for America’s Health.” The Senate bill, commonly referred to as the Kennedy-Dodd bill, contains the most explicit descriptions of these projects, including a section which matches, word-for-word, language that was provided by the group, calling for the creation of an “infrastructure to support active living and access to nutritious foods in a safe environment.’’ In December 10, 2008 congressional testimony before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee, Trust for America’s Health provided detailed examples of the kind of taxpayer-funded healthcare infrastructure they support, including grants for bike paths, jungle gyms, and lighting. The group has also lobbied Congress to establish a “Community Makeover Program,” which apparently entails spending money to beautify streets.
During the June 23, 2009 HELP Committee markup of the bill, Sens. Michael Enzi (R-Wyoming) and Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) offered several amendments to prohibit taxpayer dollars from being spent on such wasteful projects but their amendments were defeated.
“The healthiest thing that Congress could do for the American people would be to reject the bloated, wasteful, unaffordable Kennedy-Dodd bill and any similar plans. Instead, healthcare reform should be aimed at creating an authentic, robust market in which consumers and patients control their healthcare dollars, force new efficiencies and squeeze the fat out of the system, and push for higher quality care and better health outcomes,” concluded Schatz.
CCAGW is the lobbying arm of Citizens Against Government Waste, the nation’s largest nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement in government.

The best indicators as to how national healthcare will affect us is to look at other countries that have it. It sucks. Waiting lists are long whether to see a doctor, a specialist, or to get a hospital bed. Americans are not going to wait months and months to see a neurosurgeon after being told they have a brain tumor as they do in Canada. They are not going to wait a year to have gall bladder surgery. They are not going to accept that they can only have an expensive drug to treat maculor generation if they are going blind in both eyes — one eye is good enough for the little people.
I am not willing to have my private insurance premiums and taxes increase, my coverage limited by law, in order to end up with a lousy $10 rebate by the feds.
Whether a public plan or a co-op the goal is to unfairly compete with private insurance and drive them out of business so we are left with a government controlled monopoly, that can ration healthcare.
SECTION 113
On his website, Representative Robert Wexler responds to “blatantly false emails” about H.R. 3200. Mr. Wexler fails to address hidden complexities. His responses are misleading while he attempts to make government intentions appear benign. However, unintended consequences will favor large corporations and cause the demise of individual small businesses. For example, the first of his responses is to H.R. 3200 Section 113(b), located at page 22.
The email Mr. Wexler claims to be false is:
Pg 22 of the HC Bill MANDATES the Govt will audit the books of ALL EMPLOYERS that self insure.
Mr. Wexler responds:
Page 22 of H.R. 3200 requests a study, not an audit, of the effects to which rating rules are likely to cause adverse selection in the large group market and employer self insurance market insurance market. This does not require an audit of ALL employers that self insure.
1. Wexler states H.R. 3200 only “requests” a study. The law clearly states it “shall” study and report. The term “shall” creates an absolute legislative mandate.
2. Wexler fails to include all the areas that “shall” be studied. He lists only one area (The extent to which rating rules are likely to cause adverse selection). Mandates for “Study and Reports” also include financial solvency, capital reserve ratios, risks of financial insolvency, types of employers, sizes of employers, and insurance plans. Reporting of financial data is not limited in scope. It will trend toward unlimited data. It will create extensive and expensive burdens on small business that must hire accountants to respond.
3. Wexler states that the requested study is not an audit. The word “audit” is not specifically mentioned in Section 113(b). However, when financial “reporting” is mandated, it will trend toward a financial audit. While reporting may be informal by current accounting standards, it will trend toward expansive reporting, unless expressly limited in the original law. It should be remembered an Audit was never mentioned in the original Internal Revenue Service authorization.
4. Notice that “Reports” is not a singular, but a plural term. Reports will be subject to follow-up Reports and then subjected to follow-up audits for accuracy, that will trend toward criminal prosecution for fraud or negligent reporting. The “Study and Reports” section will trend toward extensive, intrusive and comprehensive government fact-gathering of unnamed, undefined and unlimited “key” characteristics.
5. While ALL employers may not initially be subjected to “Study and Reports” there is no limit specifically stated in H.R. 3200. The trend will be toward total inclusion for this requirement.
6. H.R. 3200 defines none of hundreds of terms used throughout the thousand pages. Legislative terms without clearly written and limited definitions are dangerous territory, especially when handed to administrative bureaucrats who have the power to over reach by over defining. An ordinary businessman may define “solvency” and “risk” in many different ways, as compared to government bureaucrats, accountants or lawyers.
7. H.R. 3200 and its thousand pages will be followed by hundreds of thousands of pages of minutely detailed administrative regulations. It will be a distracting maze. Misleading regulations will be written by government bureaucrats who have never run a business, never met a payroll, never made a profit, all without public input or legislative thought.
(Note: All comments are Fleckman’s): I added more actual text from HR3200 and tagged on my comment.
This is the big HR 3200 and depending on your POV it may not look real. It does not read like something we may be familiar with in this country. Obviously the reference notes are somewhat biased. There should have some balanced real world debate on the whole bill.
After a while the logic of it all become twisted and melts into a blur of illogical concepts. People are hurting and they deserve better than this plan.

At the bottom of this message is a link to the
entire healthcare bill currently sitting in Congress – all 1,017 pages of it.
Some gems are posted in the email below:
August 2009
I base the (benthinks> comments on a lifetime perspective of knowing the shortcomings of how the federal government has managed many social issues and services.
Pg 22 of the HC Bill MANDATES the Govt to audit books of ALL EMPLOYERS that self insure!! (1). Such report shall include any recommendations the Commissioner deems appropriate
to ensure that the law does not provide incentives
for small and mid-size employers to self-insure or
create adverse selection in the risk pools of large
group insurers and self-insured employers. (benthinks> independent thinkers and risk takers would give government a feeling of incomplete control)
Pg 30 Sec 123 of HC bill – THERE WILL BE A GOVT COMMITTEE that decides what treatments/benefits you get. . (benthinks> the committee will be made of a cross sections of people, many not federal employees but appointed by the president. My guess is these appointed ones will wield the power and in the end the committee will have to much power.
Pg 29 lines 4-16 in the HC bill – YOUR HEALTHCARE IS RATIONED!!!
(A) ANNUAL LIMITATION.—The cost-sharing
incurred under the essential benefits package
with respect to an individual (or family) for
a year does not exceed the applicable level specified in subparagraph (B).
(benthinks> the needed exceptions for this rationing will end up in a nightmare of red tape.
Pg 42 of HC Bill – The Health Choices Commissioner will choose our HC Benefits for you.
The Commissioner is responsible for carrying out the following functions under this division:(1) QUALIFIED PLAN STANDARDS.—The establishment of qualified health benefits plan standards under this title, including the enforcement of such standards in coordination with State…
(benthinks> if the menu at McDonalds is not your cup of tea then get used to it.
PG 50 Section 152 in HC bill – HC will be provided to ALL non US citizens, illegal or otherwise.
(benthinks> we should have the right as US citizens to vote where we should or should not cover all healthcare and other cost of people in this country illegally.
Pg 58HC Bill – Govt will have real-time access to individual finances & a National ID Healthcard will be issued! (benthinks> the idea is commendable in some ways and obnoxious in other ways such as how Big Brother can strip away and corrupt your identity if you do not fit their mold.
Pg 59 HC Bill lines 21-24 Govt will have direct access to your banks accounts for electronic funds transfer. (C) enable electronic funds transfers, in order to allow automated reconciliation with the related health care payment and remittance advice; (benthinks> keeping food money under the mattress along with your shotgun may become common.
PG 65 Sec 164 is a payoff subsidized plan for retirees and their families in Unions & community orgs (ACORN).
(benthinks> I don’t doubt this is hidden somewhere in the language but you try reading all of it.
Pg 72 Lines 8-14 Govt is creating an HC Exchange 2 bring private HC plans under Govt control. ( ..in order to facilitate access of individuals and employers, through a transparent process, to a variety of choices of affordable, quality health insurance coverage, including a public health insurance option.) (benthinks> it will be so transparent that when the warm water creeps to a boil you won’t feel a thing.
PG 84 Sec 203 HC bill – Govt mandates ALL benefit packages for private HC plans in the Exchange. (The Commissioner shall specify
the benefits to be made available under Exchange-participating health benefits plans during each plan year, ..) (benthinks> he may not be able to negotiate with the Commissioner for a personalize benefit plan for his specific needs.
PG 85 Line 7 HC Bill – Specs for of Benefit Levels for Plans = The Govt will ration your Healthcare! . #AARP members – Your health care WILL be rationed. (..the benefits under a basic plan are modified to provide for the reduced cost-sharing for the income tier applicable to the individual..) (benthinks> excuse me while I try to picture this.
PG 91 Lines 4-7 HC Bill – Govt mandates linguistic appropriate services; Example – Translation for illegal aliens. (COMMUNICATIONS. The entity shall provide for culturally and linguistically appropriate communication and health services. (benthinks> this may not mean if I go to an emergency room in Mexico they will all speak English.
Pg 95 HC Bill Lines 8-18 The Govt will use groups i.e., ACORN & Americorps to sign up individuals for Govt HC plan. ((1) OUTREACH.The Commissioner shall conduct outreach activities consistent with subsection(c), including through use of appropriate entities as described in paragraph (4) of such subsection, to inform and educate individuals… (benthinks> Where can I hide.
-PG 102 Lines 12-18 HC Bill – Medicaid Eligible Individual will be automatically enrolled in Medicaid. No choice. (not elected to enroll in an Exchange-participating health benefits plan is automatically enrolled under Medicaid.) (benthinks> no worries there, it is all the same anyway.
pg 124 lines 24-25 HC No company can sue GOVT on price fixing. No “judicial review” against Govt Monopoly. ((LIMITATIONS ON REVIEW. There shall be no administrative or judicial review of a payment rate or methodology established under this ..) (benthinks> maybe we should just not think about such a thing. Ever wonder who will be buying all the Doctors big houses and big boats ? Ever wonder what they may call the medical doctors of the future, maybe ‘medic practitioners’.
pg 127 Lines 1-16 HC Bill – Doctors/ #AMA – The Govt will tell YOU what you can make. (( PHYSICIANS.The Secretary shall provide for the annual participation of physicians under the public health insurance option, for which payment may be made for services furnished during the year,) (benthinks> seriously , start saving now for black market medical services.
Pg 145 Line 15-17 An Employer MUST auto enroll employees into public option plan. NO CHOICE. ( AUTOENROLLMENT OF EMPLOYEES.—The employer provides for autoenrollment) (benthinks> is there no where to hide.
Pg 126 Lines 22-25 Employers MUST pay for HC for part time employees AND their families. ((employee who is not a full-time employee, the amount of the minimum employer contribution under this subsection shall be a proportion..) (benthinks> good idea to keep close eye on shop floor just visiting part time employees.
Pg 149 Lines 16-24 ANY Employer w/payroll 400k & above who does not provide public option pays 8% tax on all payroll. (benthinks> This is the law but outsourcing your loyal employees jobs to China may be your loophole. It has largely proven to be the case nation wide.
Pg 150 Lines 9-13 Biz w payroll btw 251k & 400k who doesn’t provide public option pays 2-6% tax on all payroll. (a small employer for any calendar year, subsection (a) shall be applied by substituting the applicable percentage determined) . (benthinks> so if you thought maybe a lemonade stand and hiring your cousin part time might skirt the issue, sorry.
Pg 167 Lines 18-23 ANY individual who doesn’t have acceptable HC according to Govt will be taxed 2.5% of income. (benthinks> yes that is what it says. If you are having a bad year this tax will help you feel better.
Pg 170 Lines 1-3 HC Bill Any NONRESIDENT Alien is exempt from individual taxes (Americans will pay). ((tax imposed in …Subsection (a) shall not apply to any individual who is a nonresident alien.) (benthinks> Illegals are on a tax free holiday all year. I can see a market coming for purchasing an illegal alien’s identity or maybe just making an even trade.
Pg 195 HC Bill -officers & employees of HC Admin (GOVT) will have access to ALL Americans financial/personal records. ((shall disclose to officers and employees of the Health Choices Administration or such State-based health insurance exchange, as the case may be, return information of any taxpayer whose income is relevant in determining any affordability credit described in..) (benthinks> this is no joke.
PG 203 Line 14-15 HC – “The tax imposed under this section shall not be treated as tax” Yes, it says that. (‘‘(4) NOT TREATED AS TAX IMPOSED BY THIS CHAPTER FOR CERTAIN PURPOSES.—The tax imposed under this section shall not be treated as tax) (benthinks> it is simply an expense, a new one you don’t now have.
Pg 239 Line 14-24 HC Bill Govt will reduce physician services for Medicaid. Seniors, low income, poor affected. (( (14 (c) LIMITATION ON PHYSICIANS’ SERVICES IN15

Pg 469 – Community Based Home Medical Services=Non profit orgs. Hello, ACORN Medical Svcs here!!?
benthinks> lot of new jobs on horizon. I can see it now, associate degree in medic practitioner, brown shirts and cargo pants with big pockets full of drugs just for you.
Page 472 Lines 14-17 PAYMENT TO COMMUNITY-BASED ORG. 1 monthly payment to a community-based org. Like ACORN? (home services provided by the community based medical home (such as providing increased access, care coordination, care plan setting, population disease management, and teaching self-care skills for managing chronic illnesses) benthinks> Please note the word ‘community’ is for a fact found 106 times in this health care bill. Kind of makes you wonder if any community organizers had some input into this. Rather than over doing one work, community could have easily be replaced with commune or village.
PG 489 Sec 1308 The Govt will cover Marriage & Family therapy. Which means they will insert Govt into your marriage.
benthinks> President Clinton and Hilary are hard at work on the draft of how this should work. Can’t wait!
Pg 494-498 Govt will cover Mental Health Svcs including defining, creating, rationing those svcs.
benthinks> Well if the Govt is covering all Health Svcs why would this not be included?
.
I can not make this stuff up. It is in the bill, read it. Oh yes it is a great idea for the lawmakers voting on this to read it also, don’t you think?

[...] President Obama’s plan to take over the health care industry and impose a single-payer system is (sort of) documented in the 1018 page HR 3200. [...]
I find name calling a reaction to being so wrong! But love your silly reactions! This is my country and I was very proud of it! This man is a front man for his Czars and he will destroy to Repubic! India will look like club med when he gets finished!
I think a lot of you are getting tied up in this left right paradigm. It is not that big pharma is the answer either. In fact both sides of this debate for one of the first times ends in the average person getting screwed. look at how it is now we go to our doctors they call the insurance company they are told what to treat the sickness with.
That is rationing, we are paying a bunch of greedy people to take our money and say everything is pre-existing or hang up on us after being told we should have been able to read and understand the legalese of the agreements. On the other side we risk having what Briton has which is the worlds 3rd bigest company that helps no one and does not allow expensive treatments.
Either path leads to destruction as with allot of things these days. but if I were to pick one i would say let us make our own choices, as for the rest of you read the bill most of these points on this page is real.
I do not agree with this bill, nor do I agree with the way things are. big pharma stop being so greedy, and care for your customers so this doesn’t happen. as for this bill reform it to actually include people that need medical assistance and stop promoting eugenics and leave the private sector out of it and it might be worth looking into as it stands. it is bloated overreaching and kind of sick, and I don’t see how a sick bill is supposed to help the sick.
I disagree with this bill, however I don’t see any suggestions! I have an idea stop giving the unearned income tax credit and apply it toward their medical insurance or medicaid benefits they may have received. Let’s give options on how to fix what is broken ss, medicaid and medicare programs so they may leave the rest of us alone and stop taxing the citizens for their misuse of funds! I’m sorry but I believe that you can’t complain unless you have a solution.
The Republicans do have a solution, it’s called the Patient’s Choice Act.
I don’t want the gov. to be involved in my healthcare at all. They can’t be trusted and I don’t want anyone making decisions for me except me.
If the gov. wants to help those who can’t afford healthcare — not illegal aliens, not the 20-30 somethings who don’t want to buy insurance – that’s find.
And for all their b.s. about how getting rid of the waste would pay for this nightmare, if that were true, they would have gotten rid of the waste already instead of just yapping about it. But, any system like this is ripe for fraud. Expanding it will just mean more waste and ripoffs that the taxpayer will be stuck paying for.
Speak up America and don’t let anyone intimadate you ever! Hold the elite elected officials feet to the fire (even if they could careless about us) go to townhall meetings!
Opinions, yes we all have them. Solutions? Here is a solution get the illegals off the medical, employment and school rolls, now that would save this country!
God help America!
How about some of these idea. As you say don’t complain unless you have some ideas. Well these ideas, as pertinent as they are will never float as they are conservative in nature and take away government control!
President Barack Obama consistently accuses Americans who are skeptical about his health care plan of supporting the stats quo. Like much of what Obama says about health care, this simply isn’t true. Whole Foods co-founder and CEO has a must-read op-ed in today’s Wall Street Journal outlining eight market friendly health care reforms including:
Remove the legal obstacles that slow the creation of high-deductible health insurance plans and health savings accounts (HSAs).
Equalize the tax laws so that employer-provided health insurance and individually owned health insurance have the same tax benefits.
Repeal all state laws which prevent insurance companies from competing across state lines.
Repeal government mandates regarding what insurance companies must cover.
Enact tort reform to end the ruinous lawsuits that force doctors to pay insurance costs of hundreds of thousands of dollars per year.
Make costs transparent so that consumers understand what health-care treatments cost.
Enact Medicare reform.
Finally, revise tax forms to make it easier for individuals to make a voluntary, tax-deductible donation to help the millions of people who have no insurance and aren’t covered by Medicare, Medicaid or the State Children’s Health Insurance Program.
ok how about a bill that regulates insurance period. I mean a full sweep the way it is right now the only law they have regulating them is they have to make a profit. from home to health insurance needs reform maybe they should perhaps stop trying to form a monopoly, but instead come up with a bill that limits insurance loop holes. It should mandate the priority of care for the policy holder rather than forcing the industry to only rake profits. ask anyone from hurricane Katrina had insurance not screwed everyone over FEMA would not have had to put out so much money. As I said before the treatments being turned down because their not cost effective for the companies. the government should force pre-existing conditions to be treated, and force companies to apply the treatments that’s are the most effective not the most cost effective. then let the market decide who’s the best company.

If you want facts, do not go to that crappy politifact site posted above. It’s just a donk front.
The left want a public plan which gives them control and power. HR 3200 is designed to eventually force everyone within a short period of time into a public plan.
Co-ops are the same as a public plan. If the gov. controls it, it is a public plan.
