City Councilwoman Jolanda Jones (Houston-D) calls black Fire union chief “house negro”
Of course, you want read her party affiliation in the Houston Chronicle. I wonder if her party affiliation would have been mentioned if she was a Republican?
That’s a rhetorical question.
The head of the Houston firefighters union blasted City Councilwoman Jolanda Jones for her handling of allegations of racism and sexism in the Houston Fire Department, saying in a sharply worded letter Thursday that she had disparaged “thousands of firefighters.”
The letter, written by Houston Professional Fire Fighters Association Local 341 President Jeff Caynon, also accuses her of making threats, intimidation and “racist ranting” during a July 14 discussion at a local restaurant.
And what did Councilwoman (and former Olympic sprinter) Jordan call the black Union Chief?
But Caynon, who is African-American, said in the letter that she crossed a line in the meeting when she referred to him as a “house Negro” only interested in keeping his job.
“You imply that I am not really ‘black’ because I do not share your biased point of view,” Caynon wrote. “I do not know where to begin in responding, except to say that you and the race-baiting opportunists criticizing HFD deserve one another. I am indeed interested in keeping my job, and the choice between standing with the men and women of the HPFFA or standing with you is not a difficult one. Your insults are unwarranted, ignorant and damaging.”
Which is almost exactly the same thing that the union chief of the Cambridge (MA) police told our Community Organizer in Chief this week.
So all-in-all, not a good week for Democrat politicians and their relationship with the public service unions. First President Disaster pisses off every police officer and their unions by siding with (another) one of his bigoted, race-hustling friends by calling the Cambridge police stupid (despite admittedly not knowing the facts).
And now you have Democrat Jordan alienating the fire department union by calling their union chief a “house negro.”
Is there any wonder why she was voted off the Island on CBS’s show “Survivor”:
Her strong personality and her poor leadership at the Immunity Challenge made her the first person to be voted out.
Jolanda Jones wasn’t good enough to lead a band of reality show misfits…but yet somehow feels qualified to lead in the fourth largest city in America.

What’s interesting about this whole flap is how quiet Quanell X has remained.
[...] If this were in Houston, these black cops could look forward to being called “house negros”, like the Fire Union Chief was called by black City Councilwoman Jolanda Jones. [...]
