I wanted to respond to the Kids at Burnt Orange Nation who wrote that:

Rick Perry will continue to succeed — both financially and in the polls, despite his massive failures — in a Republican primary race, because the Republican base celebrates and desires the failure of government.

I wanted to tell them that they are right — I and many other Conservatives do want the Democrat’s (and some RINOs) version of bigger, more intrusive, more expensive, freedom-squashing, wealth redistributive government to fail. The quicker the better.

Texas Rainmaker nails all the things I wanted to expound on, though:

Another fine example of liberals trying to adopt catch-phrases in the completely wrong context. You see, when conservatives said liberals were rooting against the country, it was when liberals were actually rooting against and slandering American troops, denying their right to vote, or admitting that good news for America in a war was bad news for their party…

But now that conservatives are trying to oppose the push by liberals to turn America into a socialist trainwreck, liberals are claiming such opposition is somehow an opposition to the country. If that’s the case, then count me among those rooting against the country… Obama’s Country.

The Rainmaker then goes on to list a whole slew of things he hopes the out-of-control, power-obsessed government does fail at.

So go ahead and count me in on those rooting for a bigger, more intrusive, more socialistic government to fail, too.
