Austin Race-Hustling Hispanic leaders get their scalp: The Todd and Don Show canceled

As I wrote here, I knew Austin’s “Hispanic Leaders” wouldn’t be content with the two weeks suspension (without pay) of KLBJ-AM’s Don Pryor and Todd Jeffries for using the term “wetback” on the air (to describe illegal immigrants who swim across the Rio Grande River in order to sneak into our country illegally).

I told you they would not rest until the two DJs were fired or their show canceled. Well, today the “victims” got their scalp:

KLBJ-AM has canceled “The Todd and Don Show,” and co-host Don Pryor has been reassigned to off-air duties under an agreement reached Monday by the station’s owners and local members of the U.S. Hispanic Contractors Association.

The station managers are cowards.

And to all of you illegal immigrants who swam across the border to get into my country: GO HOME WETBACK!

There — now go ahead and try to boycott my sponsors or get my blog canceled, bitches.

  1. Amen. The term wetback is not a racist term, it describes CRIMINALS. I know many Hispanics who are NOT wetbacks and who freely use the term wetback in reference to illegal immigrants…oh, excuse me…I mean “undocumented workers”…sheesh…stupid wetbacks.

  2. Nice to see the “Hispanic leaders” of Austin posting a Paul Rodriguez video mocking gays. Tolerance is only cool if it helps your group, right?

  3. I’m glad they were not fired, from a business point of view that was a really dumb stunt. Why PO a big chunk of listeners and advertisers so egregiously? It’s not like KLBJ has censored anti-illegal immigration discussions that don’t use need offensive language.

Now if they’d just fire Alex Jones for his continuous blood libels against the U.S. Military they’d have my respect.

  4. jesus christ, you hicks are scary.

  5. Perhaps the leaders of the U.S. Hispanic Contractors Association are “undocumented workers” themselves and took this as a personal offense.

The station managers at KLBJ-AM are indeed cowards. Why are they in such fear of this association? Do they get all their funding and sponsorship through “undocumented workers”? I doubt it.

I agree — “wetback” is a descriptive term to define a specific type of criminal and is not a racist term to refer to the general Hispanic population. The term would only be offensive if it was applied to someone who did commit the crime in question. In that case, I could understand the offense taken.

  6. I meant to say: The term would only be offensive if it was applied to someone who did NOT commit the crime in question. In that case, I could understand the offense taken.

  7. For the uninitiated, from Robbie’s Lexicon:

    “Wetback” = Mexican

    “Race-hustler” = Uppity non-white person

    • Actually, what you claim is untrue. Robbie has been perfectly clear in defining what he means by his own vocabulary. In his earlier blog post on this topic just a couple of days ago (see link below), he said:

“I don’t have any such reservation about using the word wetback to describe the criminals who sneak into our country via swimming (or wading) across a sewage strewn river. If you didn’t swim across the river to gain illegal entry into my country, then I’m not talking to or about you.”

Nice attempt to slander him though by putting words in his mouth.

      CORRECTION

“Wetback” = illegal alien who entered the US by swimming across the Rio Grande River.

      “Race-hustler” = Pat

      • Here, let me tweak that definition a little bit more for you:

“Race-hustler” = Pat (a.k.a., uppity WHITE person with a false sense of superiority)

  8. Stephen Colbert, 7/20/2009:

“Now that white people are disadvantaged, that makes us the new black people.”

  9. Pat: racist liar who has posted verbatim from Stormfront and who was caught lying about having a daughter

  10. “YEAH, where were the black guys during the Civil War? Come on, I’m not saying they all should have volunteered, just three fifths of them.”

  11. “Race-hustler” = Pat

    Pat: racist liar

Pat (a.k.a., uppity WHITE person with a false sense of superiority)

So which is it? Can’t you wingnuts get your story straight?

  12. Props to the poster who put Pat’s home address on the other thread. Outstanding!

  13. Pat, I can only answer for my own post:

I took issue with your post because you claimed that Robbie has made statements that he has never before made. You read his blog often enough to know that what you wrote is not true. I am not necessarily trying to be Robbie’s defender, as he is perfectly capable of defending himself — it’s just that I despise the malicious spread of false information.

While I realize that race-hustlers are typically people of the same ethnicity as the person or group which the race-hustler claims have been victimized by racial discrimination, I was simply referring to your attempt to needlessly stir up controversy by trying to imply that Robbie, and all those who read and post here, are racist.

It is a form of race-hustling when you purposely attempt to stir up racial discord in order to promote your own agenda. When an opportunity to twist someone’s actions or words into a racial issue presents itself, it is race-hustling when one seeks to exploit it for the sole purpose of furthering one’s own agenda. Your agenda on this blog has always appeared to be a single-minded attempt to discredit Robbie and all of the other posters here, by slander or by any other means with which you can construe.

All of your posts which I have come across have always been very rude and uppity. I will acknowledge that you have taken quite a bit of abuse on many threads on this site and many posters have been needlessly crass in addressing you. I do not make excuses for this, but I am only responsible for my own behavior. I do not know whether the responses you evoke are due to the way you originally presented yourself on this forum, but I do know that, from what I have seen, you tend to present yourself in a very condescending manner from what you obviously feel is a moral high ground. That is why I found your own description of “uppity” as applicable. Anyone who smugly portrays him- or herself as superior is definitely demonstrating false superiority. I believe we are all created in equality and only differ by the opportunities afforded us and the choices that we make.

I have thoroughly addressed and taken responsibility for my post. It would be nice if you could, for once, acknowledge the points made addressing your own.

  14. Tracy, when has Robbie ever accused a white person here of being a “race hustler” for the white race? Doesn’t Stormfront or David Duke qualify for his hall of race-hustling fame?

The dog-whistled intentions of the quaint lexicon employed by the right-wing blogosphere are patently obvious. The right can no longer get away with the overt racism they thrived on for decades, so now they try and dress it up with words like “race hustler” in place of “uppity negro,” for example. One would think there were at least a few white people other than Democrat politicians worthy of Robbie’s ridicule out there, but no, stories about black death row inmates and common criminals serve him just fine. Read in tandem, his posts present a thesis that all the crime and bad things happening in America are caused by minorities and their white liberal enablers, and that real white people vote Republican, go to work every day, and pay their taxes on time. One would never guess that 45% of the prisoners on US death rows are white men by reading this blog. Now that we have a black president, eliminationist rhetoric has ticked way up in the right blogosphere, and this blogger does nothing to disassociate himself from that trend by constantly pointing out crimes and misdeeds committed by minorities. If it walks like a duck, odds are it is.

    • Babs Boxer is a race hustler.

    • I don’t write about “white person here of being a “race hustler” for the white race” because the only ones who are actively engaged in this idiotic behavior are white supremacist groups. And these groups have zero credibility or leverage in Conservative politics.

But they are definitely white racists. And the moment the MSM or the Conservative movement starts taking their insane and inane ramblings seriously or start to actually act on their racism, I’ll write about and denounce it.

The race hustling on the Left though, is an entirely different matter. Race hustling is a foundation of Leftist identity politics.

      • So are the Fox News gang, Rush Limbaugh and Michael Savage, who exploit the nativist and patriot movements (movements populated almost exclusively by white people) to further their own careers, are they race-hustlers?

    • Again, I find your accusations of a racist agenda on this blog to be baseless.

You state that, “Read in tandem, his posts present a thesis that all the crime and bad things happening in America are caused by minorities and [...] One would never guess that 45% of the prisoners on US death rows are white men by reading this blog [...and the blogger is] constantly pointing out crimes and misdeeds committed by minorities.”

For the past year, I have been reading all the blog posts tagged under “crime, death penalty” on this site, and there has been an unbiased renouncement of the actions of criminals regardless of race. There are plenty of posts about white criminals — yes, white convicts on Death Row –whose actions have invited condemnation as strongly-worded as any that has been heaped upon any non-white criminal. Furthermore, on this blog the compassion shown for the victims of these violent crimes has not been dictated by, nor limited due to, race.

What I have found, on the other hand, is a strong support for principles, such as the importance of justice and for taking responsibility for one’s actions. There is also a healthy distaste for inhumane assaults upon innocent victims.

Quit trying to twist everything into a racial issue.

      • It is a form of race-hustling when you purposely attempt to stir up racial discord in order to promote your own agenda. When an opportunity to twist someone’s actions or words into a racial issue presents itself, it is race-hustling when one seeks to exploit it for the sole purpose of furthering one’s own agenda.

There are countless examples of prominent conservative spokespeople like Michelle Malkin, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage and Bill O’Reilly who act in this manner time and again, firing up their audiences with racist rhetorig, suggesting a military coup after getting excited about Honduras, inviting people to rallies who show up with Obama effigies with nooses wrapped around their necks (I could go on and on,) all the time happily selling ad time to companies wanting nothing more than to separate those people from their money. Those hucksters curiously escape the scorn that the right reserves for non-white “race-hustlers.” If you believe your definition and don’t consider these people “race-hustlers,” then you need to either refine your definition to inculde “non-whites,” or find a new form of doublespeak to convey what you really mean to your audience.

As to Robbie’s claims that white supremacists have no credibility in the conservative movment, that’s just more GOP PR spin. Attend any Republican or Palin rally these days and the fringers outnumber the hard-working moms and pops 3 to 1. The GOP and conservatives cannot distance themselves from the nativist and separatist (hello Guv Perry!) elkements in their midst when they are constantly courting their votes and money at every turn. You might be able to fool your moderately conservative co-workers who may ahve voted for Obama that those are just the wacko fringe of your party, but anyone who pays attention to the news knows that’s not the case.

FWIW, this whole race conversation began when the juvenile commenter here named Sam (commenting on a cropped Obama photo) suggested that Obama go back to the Mississippi of the 1950s if he wanted to know what real men did to blacks who dared to glance at a white woman’s rear end. That’s pretty standard fare for this blog and its commenters.

        • I see racist Pat is taking things out of context again. Fucking little racist piece of shit started posting crap verbatim from Stormfront.

I think it’s funny somebody posted his IRL name and address on another thread.

        • And I’m African-American btw.

        • FWIW if Pat said it, it’s worth nothing. He’s been caught in so many lies, copying and pasting without attribution, and posting as a sock puppet, that I have lost count.

Patty: Don’t you have a torch light parade to attend, nazi boy?

      • I have been reading all the blog posts tagged under “crime, death penalty” on this site, and there has been an unbiased renouncement of the actions of criminals regardless of race

I’d be interested to see the number of Robbie’s blogs written about white criminals vs. minority criminals. Since 35% of US prisoners are white, a writer devoted to exposing under-reported crime should devote a similar amout of copy to covering those crimes as well as those committed by minorities. If such a trend exists here, I truly missed it and would stand corrected. I admit I have seen a few white death row inmates mentioned here, but a cursory search of the the blog’s content doesn’t produce too many posts about white criminals compared to those about black teenagers with their pants falling down, for example. Robbie often uses crime reports as a thinly-disgused excuse for him to reiterate his disgust and disdain for black culture in general to his audience.

        • Another lie by Patty. It’s because of liars like Patty that falsely claim that the death penalty is racist, that there is an emphasis by Urbanground, on the fact that the majority of people on death row are Caucasian.

  15. To wit:

At least in the past, those who wished to represent their movement as cosmopolitan and urbane could simply point to William F. Buckley as the right’s most prominent spokesman. Now Buckley is gone, and the most prominent spokesmen—the Limbaughs and O’Reillys and Becks—can be heard mouthing attitudes once confined to the violent fringe. For the second time in three months, Fox heavily promoted anti-administration “tea party” events this past Fourth of July—rallies in praise of secession and the Articles of Confederation, at which speakers “joked” about a coup against the communist Muslim Barack Obama like the one against Manuel Zelaya in Honduras. “What’s going on at Fox News?” Frum recently asked, excoriating Beck for passing out to followers books by the nutty far-right conspiracy theorist W. Cleon Skousen. If you were an elite conservative, you might be embarrassed too.

  16. Good riddance to bad trash. The term wetback IS offensive. It doesn’t become less offensive if you “only apply it to criminals”. Would you defend “nigger” because you only use it to refer to muggers?

    Grow the fuck up, please.

    • Except that the highly offensive word “nigger” did not originate as a description of black muggers. The term “wetback”, on the other hand, was created specifically to describe a specific criminal act — swimming across the Rio Grande to illegally sneak into the US.

These two words have zero in common. But you knew that.

      • Regardless of how the word may or may not have originated, the word “wetback” is now a general, all-purpose racist slur against Hispanics. More than a few Hispanics have been called that name by bigots, even though they were born American. To claim that “wetback” isn’t a racist term is ridiculous.

Let me make a suggestion, Robbie. Go ask any friends or co-workers of yours who are Hispanic (you live in Texas, so presumably you must know some) whether they think that word is a racist slur, or just a term that’s limited to one subset of Hispanics. I suspect you’ll find their answers don’t match yours.

        • Couldn’t have said it better myself. Better yet, why don’t you take a stroll as deep as you can into the east side and say hi to some “wetbacks”.

          You are a fucking moron.

        • I have no qualms using the term to any body who is an actual illegal alien in our country, in fact, that would be the least harsh thing I’d say to them. Not a fan of illegal immigrants in our country, and not afraid to speak up about it.

You little liberal boys always crack me up with your “if you were really brave” taunts. Do you really think that men who volunteered to go fight wars in other countries are afraid to fight one in their own country?

Acting like a man: just one more thing that is completely foreign to a Liberal guy.

    • Liberal polack – double stupid

      • Thanks for driving the point home.

        • “You are a fucking moron.”

Wow. Must have been that Rhetoric class in college. Are you sure you went to UT? Sounds more like an ITT graduate.

  17. I see racist Pat is taking things out of context again.

If he’s really the Messiah, he ought to take the time machine back to Mississippi in 1958 and try the same stunt.

What’s that again, vile little cur’s turd?

  18. I think it’s funny somebody posted his IRL name and address on another thread.

And I think it’s funny that you think I’d somehow live in fear that some doughy-pantsed, chubby-fingered mama’s boy would show up at my front door.

  19. The Southwest is running out of water, but Obama is helping the situation with his surplus of wetbacks!
