Dr. nObama --- making Dr. Kavorkian look better and better all the time

While I believe the title to this post is true in general, the focus for now is his lying in order to complete a governmental power grab over our daily lives.

I will list and document a plethora of lies he has told recently, but not an all inclusive list. While a plethora is “superabundance,” it is by no means as extensive as his ability to prevaricate.

Here is a complete list of all the industries in the U.S., as of 14 Aug 09.
These industries are ranked by profitability, as indicated in the far right column labeled “net profit margin.” Scrolling down, you will find the Health Insurance Industry ranks #86 on this list. A simpler chart is present here.

According to president Øbama this past month:

“There have been reports just over the last couple of days of insurance companies making record profits, right now,” Obama said during a prime-time news conference. “At a time when everybody’s getting hammered, they’re making record profits, and premiums are going up. What’s the constraint on that? … Well, part of the way is to make sure that there’s some competition out there.”

Not only false, but an outright intentional lie disguised as a criticism of the “greedy” insurance companies.

Just a few days ago, Øbama was in Porstmouth, N.H., where, among other things, he claimed:

I have not said that I was a single-payer supporter … I believe it would be too disruptive.

Another blatant lie!
Here is what he said last June while campaigning for president.

I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal health care program. I see no reason why the United States of America, the wealthiest country in the history of the world, spending 14 percent of its Gross National Product on health care cannot provide basic health insurance to everybody. And that’s what Jim is talking about when he says everybody in, nobody out. A single payer health care plan, a universal health care plan. And that’s what I’d like to see. But as all of you know, we may not get there immediately. Because first we have to take back the White House, we have to take back the Senate, and we have to take back the House.

Also in Portsmouth, Øbama made this statement:

The rumor that’s been circulating a lot lately is this idea that somehow the House of Representatives voted for ‘death panels’ that will basically pull the plug on Grandma. … The intention. .. was to give people more information so that they could handle issues of end-of-life care when they’re ready, on their own terms. … One of the chief sponsors of this bill originally was a Republican … Sen. Johnny Isakson from Georgia.

Disregarding the absurd notion that a seated Senator sponsored a bill in the House, the fact that this is another lie was exposed quickly by Sen. Isakson.

This is what happens when the President and members of Congress don’t read the bills. The White House and others are merely attempting to deflect attention from the intense negativity caused by their unpopular policies. I never consulted with the White House in this process and had no role whatsoever in the House Democrats’ bill. I categorically oppose the House bill and find it incredulous that the White House and others would use my amendment as a scapegoat for their misguided policies.

As for this legislation creating “Death Panels,” it doesn’t need to,  they have already been included in previous legislation.

In a press briefing from July, Øbama made the following statement:

Part of what we want to do is to make sure that those decisions are being made by doctors and medical experts based on evidence, based on what works…. Right now, doctors a lot of times are forced to make decisions based on the fee payment schedule that’s out there. … the doctor may look at the reimbursement system and say to himself, ‘You know what? I make a lot more money if I take this kid’s tonsils out … I’d rather have that doctor making those decisions based on whether you really need your kid’s tonsils out, or whether … something else would make a difference…. So part of what we want to do is to free doctors, patients, hospitals to make decisions based on what’s best for patient care.

His concern for the recipients of modern healthcare almost seems informed, yet is another lie.
The ENT Surgeons group AAO-HNS quickly issued a statement in response, yet the big megaphone of the White House was the only voice heard.

We, too, are in favor of evidence-based medicine that supports quality patient care. President Obama’s statement highlights the complexity of medical decisions like this. However, the AAO-HNS is disappointed by the President’s portrayal of the decision making processes by the physicians who perform these surgeries. In many cases, tonsillectomy may be a more effective treatment, and less costly, than prolonged or repeated treatments for an infected throat.

Then there is the recent lie by Øbama about amputations and their costs, or rather, the profits reaped by surgeons being more important than a patient being treated by a physician; and the outrageous claim that an amputation costs between $30,000-$50,000.

In response, the AMA issued a statement(the second in two weeks) that exposes the lie.

We agree with President Obama on the importance of prevention. However, a recent example used to illustrate his important point was misleading. Surgeons are not paid $30,000 to $50,000 to amputate a diabetic’s foot. Medicare pays a surgeon, on average, from $541.72 to $708.71 for one of two procedures involving a foot amputation. It is possible that the total bill, hospital stay, rehabilitation, prosthesis, etc. may approach the larger amount mentioned.

Some might discount Øbama’s comment on the costs as an embellishment, or a lack of understanding of the total costs, but in the context in which it was used, and the specificity in which he expressed it, he was clearly lying.

In June, Øbama gave a speech at the Annual Conference
Of The AMA, where he made the following remark:

So let me begin by saying this to you and to the American people: I know that there are millions of Americans who are content with their health care coverage — they like their plan and, most importantly, they value their relationship with their doctor. They trust you. And that means that no matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise to the American people: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period. If you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what. My view is that health care reform should be guided by a simple principle: Fix what’s broken and build on what works. And that’s what we intend to do.

A lie so gargantuan, not even the NYSlimes could buy it as stated.

These assurances reflect an aspiration, but may not be literally true or enforceable.

The legislation does not require insurers or employers to continue offering the health benefits they now provide. The House bill sets detailed standards for “acceptable health care coverage,” which would define “essential benefits” and permissible co-payments. Employers that already offer insurance would have five years to bring their plans into compliance with the new federal standards.

The Senate health committee bill goes somewhat further by offering an “option to retain current insurance coverage.”

The legislation could have significant implications for individuals who have bought coverage on their own. Their policies might be exempted from the new standards, but the coverage might not be viable for long because insurers could not add benefits or enroll additional people in noncompliant policies.

That the NYS article has so many qualifiers in its analysis, shows that they might be giving the president some wiggle room.

As to the president claiming that “rumors” are circulating about the proposed health care legislation being a path to socialized medicine, then he surely is lying, as it is members of his own party, as well as his own words from the past, that are responsible for those “rumors” being expressed.

I could go on and on about the lies he has/is telling on this signature piece of legislation he wants signed into law. Such as, this legislation would not pay for abortions, that Medicaire wouldn’t be cut to fund the bill, as well as coverage for illegal aliens.
This post is already long enough, with ample evidence of the fact that president Øbama will utter any lie, at any time, that will advance his goals of “fundamentally changing” America forever, by giving government control of 15% of our national economy.

The few times I could cite him for being truthful in this discussion are too chilling to mention, except for his reference to the problems with the USPS. Yes, that’s correct he, actually stated that a government run program is fundamentally flawed, in contrast to two free market competitors.

Truth is refreshing and sorely lacking in one of the most important legislative battles this nation has ever faced.
