The reason they did this, is because they do not want to insure new riders that bad. They want you to have a year or two under your belt before they will be competitive. If you are a new rider, SF will just price themselves out of the battle, but ask you to check back after you have them for a year. Not sure if USAA does the same, but now that you have been riding for 18 months, you may want to price check them again. We've been members of USAA for about 20 years -- our home and our cars are insured via USAA. Perhaps that's why she didn't bother to "refer" me back to them. That’s odd.

I don't know if they insure in Austin, as they are primarily a rural insurance company. We transferred our insurance to them a few year ago from State Farm, and literally cut our insurance bill in half. Also, Radio Shack has pulled their ads for the Magic Jack from the Beck show.
