Moonbattery: Congresscritters Help Themselves to More Gulfstream Luxury Jets
UPDATE (August 7): Uh, make that 8 jets for $500m tax payer dollars.
_______
Did you hear that Congress has decided to go ahead and order more jets after all?
No, silly, not more F-22 fighter jets, which are merely used to defend the citizens and interests of the United States from our enemies.
Instead, they’ve decided to award themselves for a job well done (damn, I can’t even type that without throwing up a little in my mouth) with three new luxury jets to ferry around them and their friends, family, and cronies.
All at the modest sum of $200m tax payer dollars. Plus gas.
The Gulfstream G550 is a luxury business jet, which the company advertises as featuring long-range flight capacity that “easily links Washington, D.C., with Dubai, London with Singapore and Tokyo with Paris.” The company’s promotional materials say, “The cabin aboard the G550 combines productivity with exceptional comfort. It features up to four distinct living areas, three temperature zones, a choice of 12 floor plan configurations with seating for up to 18 passengers.”
But don’t you dare question their motives or priorities, dammit.
