Navy Veteran Ted Bronson: “How the VA — Obamacare for Vets — nearly killed me”
For all of you idiots who think government can run health care, go read the entire post at PJ Media:
I served in Desert Storm. I got injured.
I was on a physical therapy regime for three years while on active duty, treated with pain meds, electrical stimulation, muscle relaxers, and shore duty behind a desk. When the Navy finally decided that I was too broken to fix, they gave me an honorable discharge for seven years of service and told me the VA would take care of me for the rest of my life.
Ha.
I’m a disabled Veteran, too, with a service connected disability. I waited for 2 years to get the surgery I needed on my first injury. And then waited another year for the second surgery.
Had I had my own private insurance at the time, I would have used it and been in and out of the hospital in a matter of a week or two. Instead of 3 years via “government controlled health care.”
Even though I have free VA health coverage, I pay extra (my company only pays a portion of my health care costs, I also have to contribute, plus pay a very high deductible via my Health Savings Account plan) for private coverage. Because I’ve been subjected to Obamacare for Vets.
And it sucks. When it comes to Government health care, you don’t get what you don’t pay for.
