Freshman Blue Dog Rep. Parker Griffith (D-Ala.) knows a sinking ship when he sees one:
In a statement likely to intensify the GOP assault on Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s reign, a first-term Democratic “blue dog” congressman said that he would not vote to make her the top House Democrat again. Rep. Parker Griffith, a former oncologist from Alabama, told a town hall meeting this week that Pelosi is too divisive to be speaker. “I would not vote for her [again],” he added. “Someone that divisive and that polarizing cannot bring us together.”
Griffith has been fairly independent this year, opposing the stimulus and the cap-and-trade carbon emissions plan, according to the Huntsville ( Ala.) Times, which reported his comments.
The only person in D.C. more divisive than Pelosi is Obama.
The hard-left leaning Politico poo-poos on the statement:
This is not an act of awesome political courage, it should be noted: Griffith’s won by a hair in ‘08 and is one of two dozen Democratic seats tagged as vulnerable by the Cook Political Report.
Meanwhile, freshman Rep. John Adler, (D-N.J) remarked today that the House’s health care bill is “bad for America”:
“The bill that’s coming through the House, with or without the public option, isn’t good for America,” Adler said matter-of-factly. “We have Congressional Budget Office projections of a trillion-dollar increase in costs that will have to be borne by taxpayers or insurance purchasers; meaning businesses and households. Either way, that’s a cost we can’t afford.”
The wheels? They are a comin’ off…

Imploding from within. 2010 will be a fun year.
