Last week was a crazy, hectic week, both personally and professionally.
So much so, that I missed my 5 year Blogiversary on September 22.
I wrote my first post on this blog on Sept. 22, 2004. Four years later and I’m still at it.
In the first five years I have:
- Written 3785 posts 2798 posts (987 posts this year, 1067 posts last year, 764 posts the third year, 555 in the second year, 412 in the first year).
- I have enjoyed 1,566,045 unique visitors to my site (up from 1,109,390 last year, 61,293 in the third year, 151,706 in the second year, and 43,715 in the first year). It’s a very, very small number of the estimated 38-million daily blog readers — smaller still considering Glenn Reynolds averages 384,411 per day.
- Over the last 5 years, you have written back to the tune of 31,991 comments — an average of nearly 8.45 comments for every single post that I’ve written.
Again, I want to say thanks to all of you — the people who stop by and read. The ones who come back. The ones who subscribe to my RSS feed.
This blog really is nothing without people reading it and contributing to the conversation. Dianne, who has been coming back and contributing significantly via the comments sections since nearly the beginning, N2L (who has been a tremendous help with timely posts on important topics), BigSis, Sam, KristiW, Pat (the loyal opposition), Anonymous, Heavy Gabe, Colin, Tracy F, who is a new reader this year, but much appreciated, and to many, many more… thanks for stopping by and joining in on the conversation.
This site is so much better because of all of you.
