Sen. John Cornyn Blasts Obama for Trying to Cap Executive Pay

Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX):  “I would say that there is growing apprehension at government intervention all across the spectrum.”

I think there is more than simply “growing apprehension.” I’d say there is wide-spread apprehension about government intervention across the spectrum.

Cornyn said that the White House could not effectively cap executive compensation at bailed-out companies because those businesses would always identify a loophole to retain highly valued employees.

“The companies certainly will find some other alternative means to compensate their executives to keep them there,” he said, “but I don’t think we should for a minute think this substitutes for real regulatory reform, which is a debate that Congress has not begun in earnest waiting until after the health care debate is concluded.”

Obama is the most anti-capitalism and anti-free markets President in the history of our country.

  1. Senator Cornyn – you want to talk about growing apprehension – take a good look at the public’s thoughts on the Republican Party these and do it with open eyes!

  2. Typical Cornyn, he supports the corporate big shots. As his vote for the original bailouts under the Bush adm prove. He knew well the people of Texas did not want the bailout but he did as he was instructed by the people he works for, the big corporations and international banks. Cornyn is a Bush boy, a globalist and he needs to go.

Throw Bailout Bailey’s butt out too.
I’m for capitalism. I’m not for corporate control of my nation or the planet.

  3. Capping Executive pay is just about the stupidest thing I have heard of since Obama became our Narcissistic President. He truly is in “way over his head”. The trickle down effect is going to make a huge difference in getting really good people at the top as well as keeping wages down for everyone in the future. Where does Obama find these people? We are well on our way to being a Socialist Nation. Karl Marx would be proud.
