Since Michelle Obama so selflessly put the sacrifice of winning the Olympics on her shoulders, and since Mr. Obama joined his wife in Denmark (speaking of sending something rotten to Denmark) to make their bid for their home city…I guess it’s OK to pin the loss of the 2016 Olympics directly on them too.
Because you know damned well that Michelle, Barrack, Oprah, and Valerie Jarrett would have taken full credit for winning it had it swung their way. The fact that the Obamas were not personally awarded the Olympic games can only mean one thing for certain, though: the International Olympic Committee (IOC) = racists.
I guess I’m most happy about them losing it for Chicago because of the way they seemed so damned entitled to it…pretty much like they act about every thing else in their charmed lives. Just listen to the absolute dismay in the voice of the CNN (the In-the-bed Network of the Democrat Party) anchor when he finds out that Obama has lost the Olympics (via Hot Air):

Plus, can you even begin to imagine the amount of grafting, fraud, and payoffs to connected Chicago cronies that would have gone down had Chi-town won?
Oh, and congrats to Brazil on winning the first ever Olympics Games to ever be held in South America.

Think Progress has their collective panties in a twist at the thought that The Weekly Standard staff might have cheered upon learning that Obama lost the Olympics. Hell, I’ll freely admit that I cheered, too. It’s not as if the Left wasn’t actively and hopefully cheering on failures by the Bush administration.

There is nothing good about hosting the Olympics. It’s a financial boondoggle. If lucky, they may break even. The political cronies make the money and the taxpayers foot the bill.

London’s original budget was 2.4bn pounds. Now, it’s up to 9.3bn pounds.
The Chicago bid was, to put it mildly, pretty fishy, in that they estimated 1 billion more in revenue than the other cities bidding. you’d have to be a real idiot, or a liberal, not to see that their costs will also quadruple, sticking the taxpayers with the bills.

As for the Olympics, they are a disaster. The only ones that profit are the building contractors and politicians, which is why I was involved in helping keep Dallas from being considered as a site.
