Asra Nomani reports on “Hasan’s hidden militancy.” Well, it wasn’t that hidden…
It has been reported that Hasan sought spiritual leadership from the same radical imam from whom three of the 9/11 terrorists sought guidance. This imam is Anwar al-Awlaki, an American-born Yemeni scholar who has since taken up residency in Yemen.
Awlaki “targets US Muslims with radical online lectures encouraging terrorist attacks from his new home in Yemen.” Hasan greatly admired Awlaki and, according to a fellow Muslim officer at Ft. Hood, his eyes would “light up” when he discussed his respect for Awlaki’s teachings.
