From the Washington Times:

Asked by The Washington Times whether Gen. Conway has expressed opposition to the president’s proposed policy change, his spokesman, Maj. David Nevers, did not answer directly.

But, he said in a formal statement: “Our Marines are currently engaged in two fights, and our focus should not be drawn away from those priorities. When the time is right, we have full confidence that we will be asked to provide the best military advice concerning the readiness of the Corps as it relates to this issue.”

Gen. Conway is the only chief known to have actively surveyed his generals on the impact of removing the ban. Maj. Nevers declined to discuss the commandant’s communications. Gen. Conway’s four-year term ends in November 2010.

Gen. Conway is obviously dedicated to the Corps, and is serious minded about doing what is necessary to keep the Corps the disciplined combat force it has always been.

What the General isn’t allowing to cloud his sound judgment is the fact that the discussion of this policy by the current administration is purely political posturing. Øbama and his communist cronies in his administration aren’t interested in preserving the proud traditions of this nation, or its military.

The people promoting homosexuals serving openly in our military aren’t interested in our military’s combat readiness or their traditions, only in promoting a narrow social agenda.

Should homosexuals be allowed to serve openly in our military, the effect would be profound, and would drive away far more heterosexual recruits than it would add homosexuals.

The overall effect would be not so fabulous:
