The (Not so) Daily Dog: First Day of Winter

While a large portion of our nation is blanketed under tons of snow and bone-freezing temperatures, here in Austin we’re reaping the benefit of Al Gore’s totally-not-made-up anthropogenic global warming.

So I took the boys out to Common’s Ford Ranch to hike, run, play in the lake, chase rabbits, and harvest pecans. Perfectly sunny skies, near 70 degree, calm day.

I love winter in the ATX.

  1. Popular pups play.
    Perhaps pondering possum pursuit.

  2. It was a glorious day in Big D, as well.
Unfortunately, unlike someone else we know, I had to work, and engage the mad masses on the freeways.
People are nucking futs when it gets this close to Christmas.
One thing I found out today, that was more than a little surprising, is that Dallas has the second largest Winter Solstice celebration in the country. I would have thought Austin would have more hippies pounding drums than Big D.
