After loading a 26′ and a 14′ U-Haul truck in a near freezing sleet-and-rain filled night (with only the help of my lovely wife, my sister-in-law, and my 11 yr old nephew), a short 3 hour nap, then a full day of snafus while closing on two houses, and then unloading everything into the new house…..we’re finally into our new home.
We’re beat, wore out, and exhausted. And still a ton of unpacking and organizing to do.
Sadly, we’re losing AT&T U-verse and having to go back to the major suck that is Time Warner — so I hope to have internet service by tomorrow (typing this on my HTC Hero phone).
I’ll get back to regular blogging after the new year, but till then, be excellent to each other and have a Happy and safe New Year’s Eve.
Oh, and a very Happy 8th Anniversary to my lovely wife today, too. I’d marry you all over again…but next time we’re hiring movers.

Happy New Year!!!!
I hate effing moving!
I also understand how those closings can go. Thank God it wasn’t a deal breaking snafu.
As for Time Warner broadband, I’ve had it for years and have been well pleased.
I may be doing the reverse of what you are doing, if T-W turns off my Fox programs at midnight. Ain’t no way-no how I’m giving up the Simpsons or the Speed channel because they can’t work out an agreement.
My very best to you and your bride on your anniversary, one that you two will never, never forget.
Happy New Year!
Happy anniversary my friend and Happy New Year to all may it be alot better than 2009.
Holy crap, that was a lot of things in one day. Two closings alone could take forever.
Hope you took the time to label the boxes which rooms they were from or for.
Still, I don’t envy you the unpacking but it’s such a relief when it’s finished. For now…take a day off and recover !
