Obama Preempts Charlie Brown to Announce What He Should Have Announced 7 Months Ago

So the most over-exposed and under-achieving President in the history of our great Nation is going to be on television in prime time tonight. Again.

Sigh…

My understanding is that he is going to apologize to America (instead of apologizing for America…which is his natural inclination) and the men and women serving in our military for sitting with his thumb up his ass for the last 7 months while he contemplated how best to lose the war in Afghanistan.

He’ll use this opportunity to apologize directly to General McChrystal for dithering on the General’s request for more troops — a request the General made more than 7 months ago.

In that time, the war has escalated tremendously, and our troops are taking casualties at twice the rate of the rest of this war.

Obama will take full responsibility for the current war policy and failures, and pledge his full support for victory in Afghanistan, regardless of how long or how much it cost to achieve.

Oh…who the hell am I kidding?

He’ll stand up there and make excuses, he’ll blame President Bush. He’ll probably blame the Generals. He’ll take no blame himself. If he apologizes to anybody it will be his far Left unhinged base who he promised he would end this war as soon as he took office. He won’t apologize to the hundreds of thousands of men and women in the military whom he has betrayed.

And victory? I wouldn’t be surprised if his speech tonight doesn’t even contain that word.

I think I’ll watch A Charlie Brown Christmas, instead. Wait…What? Are you kidding me? The asshole-in-chief is going to go all Grinch during the Christmas…errrr…I mean Holiday season and preempt the most beloved Christmas classic of all time?

Good grief, indeed.

  1. I watched Live Free Or Die Hard.
It was a surprisingly entertaining movie, unlike the alternative of watching the Poseur In Chief would have been.

  2. Robbie, in regards to this post saying the additional troops were requested seven months ago, that may have been when the first additional 20,000 were ordered. Gen. McChrystal made his request and submitted this report(pdf) on 30 Aug 09.

  3. I am actually not a bit surprised the Afghans are somewhat reluctant about our resolve, given our previous history with them. Had me not dropped them like a bad habit after their war with Russia, perhaps things would be a lot different.

  4. Speaking of Charlie Brown.

Ya know, Robbie, if you took Charlie Brown, and added a little goatee….

    I’m just sayin’.

  5. I’m not surprised Charlie Brown was preempted. In fact, the cynic in me says it was on purpose. After all, Linus’s reading of Luke 2 is awfully subversive stuff for American children. Wouldn’t want them to think there might be more to the holiday than rampant commercialism.
