Rock the F*ing Vote

I meant to make a quick note about the morally-decrepit ad campaign being rolled out by Rock the Vote (Youtube video) on Health Care.

If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s an ad campaign imploring teenager to “withhold sex”  from those who oppose the complete government take-over of our health care system:

Just when every tactic in the book had been seemingly exhausted in the health care debate, Rock the Vote comes along with a new one: if you want health care reform, don’t sleep with anyone who opposes it until his or her mind is changed.

The youth advocacy group is pushing the campaign in a Web video and pledge on its Web site, which asks supporters to “hold out” for health care.

“We pledge ourselves to the health and liberty of young Americans and to government for the people … and to never fucking you if you are against us,” the team of actors in the video says.

“We will vote against you, work against you, and once again, just in case you forgot, never ever, never ever, never ever, never ever fuck you.”

How insanely morally depraved of them.

Of course the irony is, that if all those teenagers would simply quit fucking each other like rabbits, they wouldn’t need as much health care — STDs, unwanted pregnancies, wanted pregnancies, etc.

Non-partisan Rock the Vote

And let’s not forget that Rock the Vote is a totally-non-partisan organization. That is totally shilling for the most controversial, hyper-partisan piece of legislation in our country’s history.

Jonah Goldberg:

The problem with Rock the Vote is that they are liars. They claim to be non-partisan when they are in fact run-of-the-mill young liberals who either use youth as a Trojan Horse in order to conceal a message nobody would want to hear from them otherwise, or they simply believe that youth and liberalism are synonymous and therefore bask in their own authenticity.

Sweetness-Light:

Mind you, on top of everything else that is despicable about this ad, Rock The Vote is a tax exempt 501c3 non-partisan ‘charity.’

OTHERS:

How bad, and how stupid is this campaign — even Liberals think it’s fucking stupid:

From Washington D.C, The Sexist:

But I’m not a Republican, so I find a few aspects of this Rock the Vote campaign unsettling that have nothing to do with the young people admitting to F-wording each other. First, Rock the Vote President Heather Smith told FOX News that the fucking-withholding petition aims to remind the youth of America that “they have a stake and a say” in the debate over health care. Huh. I thought young people had a stake in the health care debate because they’re human beings with a civil right to engage in our country’s political process. But I guess it’s actually because they’re hot and like to fuck. Second, the unsettling sexual stereotypes: According to Rock the Vote, women are sexy teases; men are insatiable buffoons. Finally, this line, meant to to ward off a skeezy Tea Party guy who wants to fuck our hot liberal heroine: ”I’m on my period. I don’t have a vagina.” Would you like some transphobia with your abstinence?

Ed Morrissey:

Why ignorant? First, the young people to whom they’re preaching largely avoid buying health insurance, and for good reason. They don’t need to spend $3600 per year (Minnesota’s average in 2007) to cover a couple of doctor visits every year. They’re better off buying catastrophic health insurance, rather than the mandated comprehensive coverage under ObamaCare, and use HSAs to pay for their health care with tax-free cash. That’s what Keith Olbermann does, after all, and he’s a lot older than the RtV target audience.

Sister Toldjah:

Not mentioned, of course, in the “Rock the Vote” PSA? The fact that young folks will be crucial to the “success” of ObamaCare – paying for it, that is

  1. How about I change my W-4 exemptions to 15 and “hold out” on paying taxes?

  3. These are the tools we want youth to embrace for political reform? Using sex and bribery to influence decisions?
    Future sluts of America unite.
