Where in the World

Call off the search party, I’m still here. Just been hyper busy with real life stuff — selling our house and buying  a new one.

All good news on that front…we have a buyer under contract and we’re scheduled to close on December 30 at 9:00 a.m. Then we turn around and close on our new home (about 15 miles further West into the Hill Country than where we currently live).

Anywho…so we’ve been busy with inspections and repair men and agents and mortgage bankers and work and dogs, and the holidays, and so-on-and-so-on.

Tonight?  Well, I finally decided to replace my 5 year old Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop, which I’ve blogging on almost since the start of Urbangrounds. But 5 years is a lot of years on a laptop…especially one as heavily used as that one. So I’m spending this evening setting up my new laptop (another Dell Inspiron), installing software, and transferring files.

I’ll be back to regular blogging tomorrow. And, seeing how I have off from now until January 4th for a much deserved and much-more needed vacation, I’ll have plenty of time to get some good writing done (well, plenty of time other than moving in 12 days.

  1. What a beautiful home ! I hope you show more pictures after you’re there. Love the arches. I have arches outside and inside my house too! Congratulations.

  2. Love the new house….Is this your anniverasy gift? We are thinking of visting Austin next summer and would love to stop by.

  3. Dang Robbie, y’all have been busy.
    Nice looking house.
I’m assuming there is lots of room for the rambunctious hounds.
I envy your having two weeks off at this time of year.
If you are relaxing at home tomorrow, it is championship day in high school football.

  4. I hate installing software. I assume you now have Windows 7?

That yard looks kinda of small. I you sure you want to live there?

    • I think there’ll be plenty of room back there…

Here’s a view from the master bedroom window into the backyard:

  5. Sure looks like a coyote play land out there.

  6. Ok where is my room at! LOL…. Just kidding, its beautiful Robbie. Alot bigger than the old house…… guess the kids needed roaming room!

  7. Are there rattlesnakes out there? A few years ago, there was a shortage of rattlesnake antivenom for dogs.

I went to check on the status and found this website with a first hand account of being bitten by a rattlesnake and learned that they now have rattlesnake vaccine for dogs.

I do find the advice that if you hear a rattlesnake you should stop and slowly back away odd. When did a dog stop and slowly back away from anything?

  8. Robbie,
Congrats on the new chapter in your housing situation. Pretty soon, all the hassles involved with buying and selling houses will be over and you can get down to business enjoying your new digs…as well as the 10 repair/upgrade projects that come with every house ;-)

    Press on!
    Travis
