I'm a precinct chair in a precinct that borders Ron Paul's district and used to be a part of it. Maybe I can best sum things up with the words of a dear friend from church who worked many Ron Paul campaigns -- "Dr. Paul is a very nice man, but he's just gotten a bit odd as the years have gone by."

I honestly had no idea who Ron Paul was when the last election cycle began.

Sounds like something John McCain would say about Palin.

RWR, you stuck that stick in the hornet's nest with that one.
I honestly had no idea who Ron Paul was when the last election cycle began. I don't live near his district and had never heard of him. Then he was on some show or debate, and as soon as he was asked a question the flashing emergency lights came on in his eyes and he started foaming and spewing.
I don't care what that man has to say, even if he does say some pleasing things to some people, that man is as nutty as squirrel shit.

No, the Ron PauLunatics are simply nuts. Consider my experience with them.

That's not my contention. I'm more Libertarian than true Republican. But the Ron Paulbots take it to a different level. They're sort of like the Pat Robertson Republicans.

"Ron Paul-esque Libertarian looney."

I'll bet you dollars to donuts that 9 out of 10 of the Founders of this great nation would be Libertarians in today's political climate.

Rick does owe a lot to his hair, but he is a former C-130 pilot and that counts a lot with me. To paint him as some kind of liberal is crazy. The Governor of Texas is mostly harmless, but Rick has done well when we needed leadership.

KBH isn't a liberal either, but I think the record of Senators trying to be executives is really poor. After years of being one of a 545 person committee shes unlikely to be capable of leadership.

Medina is a nice lady, but I agree with Robbie 100%, she's too close to the Jones/Paul nut cases.

Even if I concede every point you've made, I still cannot support Rick Perry.

It boils down to a single word -- Gardasil. If he could pull that move, he is no conservative, and undeserving of the vote of any individual who believes in traditional values, individual liberty, or honest government.
