Just caught this headline at the Houston Chronicle:

Mayor Parker Takes Oath with Budget on Mind

With Parker being a Democrat, it’s not unreasonable to ask if Parker plans on expanding the budget, a la the Obama administration, and bankrupt Houston while destroying its economy — or if she plans on showing fiscal restraint (something no other Democrat in the history of the world has ever been able to demonstrate)

For the sake of Houstonians (and the rest of Texas), I hope it’s the later.

Hopefully she’ll also reverse Bill Whites Sanctuary City programs and policies.

  1. I may have voted for her if I lived in Houston; she is the former city controller and has a keen grasp of the fact that Houston is technically bankrupt due to problems with the city pension plan. I don’t look for much, if any, expansion of the city government on her watch. Regrettably, the Sanctuary City policies will not be altered at all while she is mayor. I do look forward to voting against Bill White this fall.

  2. I don’t really care what her sexual preferences are and blah blah blah. The media are the ones turning this into a sex preference thing. As long as she does the job well without constantly pushing GLBT political issues into her term as mayor it shouldn’t matter.

But then she will be under alot of pressure from the GLBT community to do so.

  3. or if she plans on showing fiscal restraint (something no other Democrat in the history of the world has ever been able to demonstrate)

You should replace “Democrat” with “American politician.”
