Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D): Residing Over America’s Elite Ruling Class

No wonder Pelosi just voted to increase the US debt limit — she needs more money from the American people to pay for more booze flights for her and her friends/family/cronies:

It reads like a dream order for a wild frat party: Maker’s Mark whiskey, Courvoisier cognac, Johnny Walker Red scotch, Grey Goose vodka, E&J brandy, Bailey’s Irish Crème, Bacardi Light rum, Jim Beam whiskey, Beefeater gin, Dewars scotch, Bombay Sapphire gin, Jack Daniels whiskey … and Corona beer.

But that single receipt makes up just part of the more than $101,000 taxpayers paid for “in-flight services” – including food and liquor, for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s trips on Air Force jets over the last two years. That’s almost $1,000 per week.

I’ve flown as a government employee on government jets and aircraft.

I don’t remember the bottles of Makers Mark and Courvoisier.

If I remember correctly, during my last flight, we were each instructed at a designated time during our long flight to reach into our cargo pocket and pull out and eat the MRE, which we were handed pre-flight and ordered to store in said cargo pocket until (and NOT until) we were ordered to remove and eat said MRE.

The last time I flew courtesy of the US government looked something like this...

Our elected officials believe that they are royalty. And, sadly, we the people have allowed them to continue to bestow more-and-more power and privileges to themselves, and in doing so we have created an elite ruling class in our country.

Those two Americas John Edwards (he’s single now, boys and girls, if you’re interested) was referring to? Nancy Pelosi and the rest of Congress live in one. The rest of us live in the other.

  1. This has been going on for years, with both parties. Every new ambassador and DCM gets to redecorate his quarters; codels bring along lots of extraneous relatives and friends (I sourly remember Lautenberg’s daughter from one I was forced to deal with), and no one really cares to do anything about it because each is awaiting his own turn to raid the cookie jar. Consider all the “men of god” who reside in mansions and preach Christian humility to their flocks. And no, I’m not an atheist, I’m just a Christian who would never attend a church that advertises by its pastor’s name (and/or photo of his wife). Remember, some animals are more equal than others – the last public official who truly did not want to waste the people’s money was perhaps George Washington.

  2. What the hell are you necks whining about? Speaker Pelosi is the third highest ranked official in the United States. A grand a week is a small price for the safety and comfort for an important person.

Then again, a grand a week is like four weeks of food stamps in Texas, no?

Idiots. No wonder CA beats TX in every single way.

  3. And as a person residing in a CD near the Speaker’s, I will say she is a consummate patriot, Californian, and American!

  4. Princess Nancy’s got nuthin on her porcine predecessor.

U.S. taxpayers are spending more than $40,000 per month on office space, staff, cell phones and a leased SUV for former House Speaker Dennis Hastert, even as he works as a lobbyist for private corporations and foreign governments.

  5. Oh looky…a proven liar and a proven dumb ass posting on the same thread.

Must be the full moon, because all the moon bats are coming out to defend the Wicked Witch of the West.

  6. Hey Pat, if California is so much better than Texas, why are so many D-Bags from Cali moving here? I am sure it has nothing to do with our stable economy and low unemployment rates. I am also sure it has nothing to do with how your libtard government has run your state into the dirt. Please do not join your neighbors in flocking to Texas. Us redneck gun-totin’ meat-eatin’ rubes are doing just fine without you.

  7. Forgive me… my prior comment was directed at “NEWLONESTARSTATE”… cut me some slack. After all, as a Texan, I am probably barely literate in the first place, so the mere fact that I am writing at all is a miracle.

  8. I would like a very dry martini (Gin) with three olives and the name of the cute babe behind the bar.

  9. As a thoroughly long pissed off American let me say this. This stuff has been going on for years. sadly it’s getting to the point where it’s time to water the tree of liberty again. I don’t think we’re there yet..but we are rapidly heading in that direction.

Secondly as a Texan let me say this
‘cali is better than Texas? Don’t think so..not on the coldest day in hell.’

  10. Yep, CA has TX beat all right…higher taxes, higher unemployment, higher cost of doing business, more businesses & people fleeing the state, more smog, more congested cities. Don’t move to TX and then bash your new home and the people who were here before you. Either get your head screwed on straight, or get your ass back to CA and stay there.

  11. BBB, be nice to cut-n-paste pat. He she or it wishes he she or it had a child born into a victim class. It would assuage h/s/i liberal guilt. So, you see, h/s/i didn’t really lie when h/s/i made up the lesbian daughter, h/s/its need to identify with the oppressed makes it a truth. As far as the cut and paste, I suppose that because some repub accepted some bribe somewhere in the past, it is OK for any and all demos to also accept bribes. If you follow pat’s logic, anyway.

  12. That doesn’t surprise me….
Seeing that bar, I hear that dimocrats are notoriously bad tippers….I wonder if that bartendar gets any tips or if it’s “included” in her salary.
