Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn) — one of the biggest ass-munches in the entire Senate (and that’s saying something) has seen the writing on the polls.

Those same Rasmussen polls that Libtards claim are so mean to Democrats, and thus couldn’t possibly be accurate. Those same polls that show that Sen. Dodd was going to get his ass handed to him in 2010 by anybody not named Chrissy Dodd.

So, before the people of Connecticut get the pleasure of firing his worthless ass at the polls, the coward has decided to quit instead.

Good riddance. 2010 is already a victory for America without Dodd in the Senate.

Last month I wrote a post asking, “How many Democrats will lose their jobs for supporting Obamcare against the wishes of their consituents?”

Yesterday, Sen. Byron Dorgan was added to the death toll. Today, we have Chris Dodd. Who will be the next Dem to jump ship before we can push them overboard?

Granted, Dodd’s quitting actually strengthens the chances of the Donks keeping his seat. He would have lost to a Republican challenger. But a more popular Donk will likely keep the seat. Either way, this is a scalp for the GOP.

Lots of reacts from both sides of the aisles over at Memeorandum.

Another Black Conservative sounds a cuationary note:

What is being overlooked is that these Democrat House Reps and Senators are free to vote for whatever crappy legislation they please without a worry about answering to their constituents. In essence they are like Dead Men Walking. They have nothing to lose by going against the will of the people for the next eleven months.

So as we all cheer about another Dem biting the dust before 2010, let us take time to realize the threat these retiring Dems pose.

Ruby Slippers:

Democrats appear to be offering their losers, like Dodd, a deal to retire in order to have enough time to field a strong candidate for the November elections.  That Dodd would take such a deal should surprise no one. That is, after all, how he came to own the scenic cottage in Ireland.  Democrats do not have stars like Blumenthal to replace all their vulnerable candidates so I don’t expect many offers that can’t be refused unless a star is on board and committed to run. While the strategy may help here and there, the Democrats are really running from the inevitable backlash against their leftist agenda.  Different Candidates are merely different Democrats, they’ll still have a target on their back.

  1. Dodd quitting is a good thing but the seat will stay with the Dims. They will put a younger more moderate looking candidate to run.

  2. I guess DC just isn’t the same for Chris without fat Ted to share Chivas shots and make a waitress sandwich.

  3. crap, he didn’t quit. The dims can’t risk the 60 majority and they told him to get out because he didn’t have a chance in hell of winning again. This piece of shit belongs in a gulag anyway.
