Is Al Gore in Austin today? Because we just had the biggest snow dump I’ve seen in Austin in the 10 years that I’ve lived here:

Hill country snow

Our backyard this morning

No, it’s not much…probably just about an inch or two. But for Austin, Texas? That’s like 24″ of snow in D.C.

neighborhood entrance

The entrance to our neighborhood

Came home early from work today to avoid the nightmare that is sure to be traffic later today as temperatures continue to drop.  Of course this will all be gone tomorrow afternoon when it’s supposed to be sunny and 50 degrees…but for today the neighborhood kids were out in force building (their first?) snowmen and having snow ball fights.

Global warming, my ass.

Update to add a few pics of the dogs playing out in the snow — they were loving it, sprinting, jumping, and frolicking in the cold white stuff:

Otis in the driveway

Otis just moments before taking off after a jack rabbit in the field across the street

Jersey in the driveway

Jersey trying to decide if he wants to venture off the drivway and out into the snow

Angus and Otis trying to find that damned jack rabbit

  1. Robbie, it is snowing like hell here in Bastrop County. This is the first snow, of any measure, that we have had at the house since 1988.

    • It’s “Global Warming”, not “Texas Warming” or “USA Warming”.
Using individual events and places to try and “disprove” (if “my ass” is supposed to correspond to some form of argument) global warming is not correct.
Whilst earlier this winter there was exceptional cold across Europe and parts of the USA, the climate-change deniers ignored the extreme warmth at the same time in Alaska, North Africa, the Mediterranean and Greenland.

People just cherry pick places and events to try and argue their case now. If you’re not a scientists (you’re not), sit down and shut up.

      • Spoken like a true ClimateGate denier.
You say there is extreme warmth in your cherry picked locations without any substantiation.
Here is a very unpopular piece in the Global Cooling Denier community by the scientists with the NOAA Earth System Research Laboratory and the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences in Colorado and the Physics Institute in Bern, Switzerland. It concerns water vapor, you know, the number one green house gas, that humans have absolutely no control over. Here is the abstract.
To make it even simpler and more understandable for you, that man isn’t the problem, here is a short video presentation to demonstrate how insignificant man is concerning the forces involved.
Even if you claim you are a scientist, STFD and STFU.

        • Obama, Gore and their ilk crow about how they are the only ones who respect science. Well, let me tell you something about science. If the data that were conjured up to support this global warming hoax were submitted to a government agency such as the EPA or FDA according to Good Laboratory Practices (the government’s standards), whoever submitted the data would be brought up on fraud charges and sent to jail.

      • Using individual events and places to try and “disprove”………

The irony of Doug citing “individual events and places” as evidence to prove something or other is lost on him.

Then he attempts to shut it all down with his argument of authority. Of course if a PHD says 2+2 = 10, you are not qualified to comment. Or if some scientist finds a pig bone yet claims it is a human bone and the missing link at that, you are not qualified to have an opinion.

Check your brain at the door and obey your new masters, you unqualified imbeciles.

  2. NASA Research Finds Last Decade was Warmest on Record, 2009 One of Warmest Years WASHINGTON — A new analysis of global surface temperatures by NASA scientists finds the past year was tied for the second warmest since 1880. In the Southern Hemisphere, 2009 was the warmest year on record.

Idiocracy – coming to a red state near you.

  3. Had a interesting conversation today with one of my liberal co-workers. I aske dhim how he liked the white global warming that was coming down and he went on a Rant about how ” man made climate change ” is throwing off the weather patterns. I just rolled my eyes and got back to work.

    • Tell him “fine…you don’t need a job, a car, or for that matter..have a need to eat or be clothed. So give me your car, all the money you have in the bank, quit your job and give your clothes to the salvation army. Then you can go be one with mother nature, moron.”
*facepaw..because even animals know when your being THAT stupid*

  4. You wanna know why the weather? Pelosi was in the state yesterday. she was down here in Houston at the ship channel touting how wonderful the stimulus package was and how many jobs at the Houston Ship Channel were saved/created by it. Uh hunh. she must have caught the Gore curse.

  5. It started snowing in College Station today around 1pm and snowed fairly heavily for at least 3 hours (biggest snowflakes I’ve ever seen),…then slowed down some but stayed steady till it stopped around 630.
We’re 3 miles outside city limits and we got at least 3 inches.

The goracle is hiding out somewhere.
