Picture of the day, via ALa at Blonde Sagacity:

A U.S. Marine from Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 6th Marines, takes aim as he tries to protect an Afghan man and his child after Taliban fighters opened fire in the town of Marjah, in Nad Ali district, Helmand province
This picture says so much about our Marines — putting his body between the sniper and a young man and his child. What a perfect example of the difference between us and them (and by ‘them’ I mean militant Islamists) with regards to human life.

Sorry for bringing this up, but it makes me that much More angry at the attempt to demonize the Marines in James Cameron’s little fantasy world movie Avatar. I’ve heard enough about it now that I don’t even want to rent it for the special effects. Cameron is a nutcase.
I won’t be seeing Avatar, either. There’s a reason that the Marine Corps officially denounced the movie.
Won’t see it; won’t rent it; spit every time I hear the name mentioned. Spit.
So look likes there’s still some good persons in the military
Brillant picture, but I prefere the SAR so far.
