Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) died today at the age of 77:
Rep. John P. Murtha (D-Pa.), 77, a Vietnam veteran who staunchly supported military spending and became a master of pork-barrel politics, died Monday at Virginia Hospital Center. The 19-term lawmaker died from complications of gallbladder surgery.
We’re taught not to speak ill of the dead…so, I’ll say this about him — from 1952 (when he first enlisted in the United States Marine Corps) until 1967, where he earned the Bronze Star with Valor device, two Purple Hearts and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry in the Vietnam War, John Murtha was a courageous and honorable man.
But, unfortunately, that was the last time Mr. Murtha and the word “honorable” could be used in the same sentence.
I talked to a lot of former Marines at work today; not one of them was sad that Murtha had died. And I share their sentiments. Murtha was a rare exception in this country — an ex-Marine. Murtha goes to his grave never having to answer for his slanderous and false accusations against the Haditha Marines, whom Murtha accused of cold-blooded murder of civilians.
So, he’s dead. I won’t mourn the loss. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s in hell right now trying to figure out how to get pork projects for his new district.

Since we aren’t supposed to say anything if we can’t say something nice, I will only say this.

I hope he’s getting fucked in the ass in Hell along with Saddam, Ted Kennedy and Osama.
Fuck him. And fuck his district.
Murtha is the only person in US history to be an ex-marine. Glad he is gone from Congress. Hopefully a Republican takes his seat which would be another slap in the face to Hussein.
ex-marine…..yes.
I have no compunction whatsoever against speaking ill of the dead. A marine I know said there’s probably a squad of marines awaiting Murtha a the pearly gates..waiting to show him the right way DOWN.

I left a little out but has the same effect as reading the entire article. If you are going to praise his military efforts then praise them. If you are going to bash him then bash him. Pick a side, Robbie.
I praised his military service because, at that time in his young life he was still an honorable man. And even the vile shell of a man he became can’t take that away nor diminishes it in any way.
How is this…John Murtha was a ex-Marine who served his country honorably in a time of war. For that fact alone, most people will try to be respectful about his passing.
However, John Murtha was also a corrupt Congressman who did not serve his country honorably. He deserves every cuss word spoken about him for calling fellow Marines murderers in a time of war, and throwing them under the bus for pure political gain.
R.I.P. YOU S.O.B.
Agreed. Besides, since about 2006, I’m following the words and advice of Vincent Furnier:
“No more Mr. Nice Guy…”
@Robbie and @BBB…I am ALL in agreement about him being a complete fuck tard son of a bitch. I do not feel like it is our duty to HONOR him, no matter what. His state of mind (politically) may have changed, but one’s heart never does. If he claimed that Marines were murderers now then he always felt that way. THAT to me is not honorable. People do not change, and this muther fucker is no exception. May he rest in piss.
