Victim Identified in Austin Suicide Flight into IRS Building
Joe Stack’s suicide terrorist attack on the IRS building in Austin miraculously only killed one person (other than Stack himself, who’s now burning in hell as I type this).
Sadly, that person has been identified as Vernon Hunter of Cedar Park:
The woman said she and Hunter’s wife were both about 20 feet away from where the plane crashed through a second-floor window. That window overlooking Research Boulevard was part of Hunter’s office.
“He was in there,” she said. “We just heard a loud boom, then the ceiling started to fall.”
She said the lights went out, and people were screaming amid sounds of crashing glass. Some of her co-workers made it to safety by crawling out the window. She and Hunter’s wife followed the sound of someone’s voice to the exit.
“We just heard, ‘This way. Follow me. Follow my voice.’”
Both uninjured beyond minor smoke inhalation, the two women eventually learned from police that Hunter was the only person they could not find. As crews discovered two bodies within the rubble, she said they knew one of those must be Hunter.

So very sad. Prayers going out for Vernon Hunter’s family.
The loss of Vernon Hunter is very sad and tragic.
I was really hoping Stack only managed to kill himself.
Agree, he should be feeling pretty toasty by now.
so you believe all those who have died in wars and others such as Washington, Jefferson, franklin who have addressed the evil of tyranny are in hell
Chris, you are brain damaged if you compare the actions of this murdering mad man to those of our revolutionary founding fathers.
I would have cheered the guy if he would have done it when there was nobody there. But he took a innocent life. As much as I hate the IRS I don’t think murdering people who are just working a job is the way to go.
This just might spur some other folks to retaliate the same way against the .Gov
life really isn’tthat innocent when the daily objective is violence against your fellow man
I don’t know the issues surrounding Stack and why he chose to kill but was it worth it? An innocent man was murdered because Stack probably had a money problem. I’m broke and I have lint in my pockets, should I take out the local High School?
