I’m sorry, but did clueless Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) really just say:

Today is a big day in America — only 36,000 people lost their jobs today, which is really good.

Watch the video for yourself:

Yep. That’s exactly what he said.

I wonder if those 36K Americans who are now worried about making their next mortgage payment and putting groceries on the table for their kids think it’s as “really good” a day in America as Harry Reid (who, for the moment, is still employed and drawing a check for $174K/per year of our tax dollars that he does absolutely nothing to deserve)?

OTHERS:

As Ed Morrissey notes:

If Harry Reid wasn’t already finished in politics, this clip would absolutely bury him. As it is, it suffices as an example of the blindness of Beltway living. Celebrating the loss of 36,000 jobs in the American economy in February may be one of the most clueless political statements ever seen.

The American Pundit adds:

This is what happens when someone becomes so tied up in Washington that he or she has lost all connection with average people. He views people solely as numbers in a large game, the smaller the number the better. No matter an additional 36,000 Americans no longer have a paycheck since the start of February.

American Digest:

In days not long past, a politician of this caliber would be dragged into the street, tied to a rail, painted with a tar brush and feathered liberally, then dropped in a remote location to wonder the countryside incoherently while being pelted with whatever refuse his “constituents” had at hand. That we don’t perform this simple ritual on our elected representatives from time to time at this late date in history suggests that we as a people have not only lost our sense of outrage, but our sense of humor as well.

I’ve reshuffled my list of the Top 5  Politicians I Want to See Unemployed, with Harry Reid moving up 3 spots to jump KBH and Pelosi:

  1. President Barack Obama (D)
  2. Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV)
  3. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX)
  4. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA)
  5. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA)

  1. Let’s put those 36,000 people in a stadium with Harry Reid and see how he fares.

  2. What else do you expect from a someone that has never held down a private sector job and has always been on the tax payer payroll?

  3. Wait..it gets worse. Congresscritter Patrick McHenry from North Carolina is currently trying to build support and push a bill through to replace Ulysses S. Grant on the $50 bill. With Ronald Reagan. Now why I don’t personally object to the idea…why is this fucking retard focusing on this when there are bigger fish to fry like killing Obamacare dead. I mean seriously? Putting Reagan on the $50 is more important than that? Really?
You know….I really feel a need to bitch slap someone right now…

  4. Now now Sean. Don’t go posting threats or Big Sis Janet is going to beat you up with her 12 inch dong…….. : )

  5. nope..it’s not a threat. It’s only a threat if I threaten someone or something specific. Janet has a 12in dong? Damn I always new she was born a man…*grin*

  6. Robbie, I really wish you would add that asshat, Lindsey Graham, to your list.

It is being reported that he is now working with the Oval Office on another amnesty plan.

  7. Reid is just a double-down on the dumb-ass type, like the pResident.
