UPDATE: He’s dead.
Powerful words from the family of one of Maxwell’s victims:
After Maxwell was pronounced dead, Shirley Bott, whose son was the first murder victim, turned to a state official accompanying her and showed a heart-shaped locket she wore on a chain around her neck.
“I have my son’s ashes in here,” she said. “I wanted him to be here.”
10-years ago, Joshua Maxwell and his stripper girlfriend Tessie McFarland went on a cross-country, Natural Born Killers -style crime spree, which included murdering 40-year old Rudy Lopes, a sergeant with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department, and ended with their apprehension after a running gun battle and high speed chase with police in downtown San Francisco, California.
On Thursday, March 11, shortly after 6:00 p.m. Huntsville, Texas Time (HTT), Joshua Maxwell (described by the loonies at Prisontalk as “he looks just like someone’s little boy”) will pay for his crimes with his own life.
Unfortunately, McFarland, 30, plead guilty and received a life sentence for her part in the Capital Murder of Lopes. Unfortunate, because she should have received death for her part in the crimes.
How the hell does a dude on Death Row have a MySpace page? Doesn’t he know that MySpace is so 2005 — he should seriously consider upgrading to Facebook…oh…wait…never mind.
Murder in Indiana
Over the course of three days in September of 2000, Maxwell and McFarland abducted Robby Bott, burglarized his Indiana home, and then shot him in the face and strangled him until he was dead. They then put him in the trunk of his own car and set it on fire.
Maxwell and McFarland then fled to California. After their arrest in California, Maxwell confessed to murdering Bott. Twice.
Next on the list is Hank Skinner, who will die on March 24th. Hank is a precious rockstar amongst the anti-nutjobs at Prisontalk, where he has quite a few women pining for him. The crocodile tears will be flowing like a broken pipe around there this month.
