Why Bill White Will Lose to Gov. Rick Perry

One of the best campaign-specific blogs I enjoyed during the primary season, Rick vs. Kay, is getting ready to wrap up and shut down his blogging efforts now that Rick has demolished Kay (as he predicted early on) in the GOP primary.

But before he goes, he’s taken a look ahead at the Rick vs. Bill match up for Governor of Texas in this fantastic spot-on post on the Top 10 Reasons Bill White Has No Chance:

Here are the top ten reasons Bill White has no chance, and why I find it unnecessary to rename and repurpose this blog into Rick vs. Bill. Rick is going to stomp Bill White, and these reasons are independent from anything positive about Rick or the political climate which also favor Rick. These ten things are strictly where Bill White will fail.

Two of those reasons would be more than enough on their own, without even having to consider the other eight reasons:

3) Bill White is an anti-second amendment, anti-gun Liberal who signed on to an aggressive liberal gun control pact with Mayor Bloomberg and others. That might fly in some places. But not here in Texas, where we have a special affinity for our guns and an even bigger affinity for our ability to keep them.

4) Bill White left Houston in a mountain of debt.

His fiscal record in Houston is ripe for exploitation. Bill White has made a lot of claims about Houston that are just not true… his stewardship left a fiscal mess in the Houston city government… he also made Houston a sanctuary city for illegal aliens. His Houston record is going to make it very hard for him to win state wide.

I agree with RvsK’s prediction that Gov. Perry beats Bill White by double-digits in November.
