Debbie Wasserman-Schultz

One of these two reads at a 2nd grade level. The other one is a small child.

Continuing the theme today of “How dumb are members of Congress?” let’s add Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D-FL) to the growing list of people too stupid to earn an honest living, so they cheat and lie their way into Congress instead.

Rep. Wasserman-Schultz is now trying to convince us (or herself) that there is no individual mandate to buy health insurance under the freshly signed  (and unconstitutional) Obamacare health care takeover.

Despite the fact that — you  know — there fucking is an individual mandate to buy health insurance (and you will be fined by the IRS if you do not buy it). It’s almost like DWS didn’t read the bill. Either that or she has the reading comprehension skills of a drunk squirrel.
Watch this:

AllahPundit:

She’s no stranger to Orwellian rhetorical parsing, in other words, as you’ll soon be reminded again. Her point here, I think, is that fining people for failing to buy insurance technically isn’t the same thing as requiring them to buy insurance. Don’t want to buy it? No problem — the government will simply take some of your money instead. It’s like saying you’re not “required” to pay your taxes because you can of course “choose” not to pay, in which case the IRS will simply garnish your wages and put a lien on your property.

[snip]

It’s honestly amazing to me that even at this late date a liberal like Wasserman-Schultz lacks the guts to explain to her constituents honestly what the mandate is about.

Either she can’t read or she’s lying. There’s a good chance that it’s both. Or she just believes that we’re that stupid…

  1. She can read and lie with the worst of them. Her machine is set on permanent spin cycle.
She was on FOX one day many months ago, and it was the first time I had ever heard of her. I was on the PC at the time and my back was to the TV, but I heard “Debbie” and naturally assumed she was a woman. When she started talking, I strained my neck in the whip-around to see the TV, she sounded like a man.
I think the Mick Dundee sex identity needs to be employed.

  2. DWS was only wordsmithing the sentence “Do NOT look at the man behind the curtain.”

And yes, as a Democrat, she thinks people are that stupid.

    • I actually took a look at her wiki page and she got her Masters of Arts in political campaigning.
A pure political monster, with not a shred of understanding as to what generates the wealth that she and her fellow critters covet so.

  3. Think like a woman. She knows exactly what she’s saying. She’s setting up a defense for the constitutionality of forcing someone to purchase insurance. Instead, she asserts that this is nothing more than a different tax status which the government is allowed to impose.

  4. I want to start the Tea Party Insurance Co.

You pay me $10 per month. I will give you proof of insurance. You will not face the government fine.

    Who is in?! ;)

    You forgot Horribly Unattractive!
    Damn!

  6. Just read the secretive details of our recently passed Health Care bill.

Those lawmakers bragged that it would IMMEDIATELY help small businesses by “giving” them a tax credit for 35% of the eligible health care premiums paid … starting in 2010 !!

    What a crock !!

It DOES NOT (did I spell “does not” correctly??!!), it DOES NOT cover you and me. It does not cover your neighbors, your friends, your family, your grocer, your plumber, or ANY real small business in existence, that we know of.

Why? It is worded to cover those small businesses with “fewer than 25 employees”.. yeah right!! Read the law, it DOES NOT cover sole proprietors… it DOES NOT cover partnerships… it DOES NOT cover S-Corps !!

How many small businesses do YOU know that, employ less than 25 people, and ARE NOT sole proprietorship’s, partnerships, LLCs or S-Corps?? PROBABLY NONE !!

And, if you do find a small business with less than 25 employees, and they happen to still be an regular C-Corp, guess what? The owners aren’t covered by this bill. Neither are the “owner’s family” which are defined to include the owner, the owner’s spouse, the owner’s kids (natural, adopted, step and any other variation), the owner’s parents, grandparents, in-laws, anyone who can spell your name correctly is considered “family” and non-qualified to participate.

This is a bigger fraud than we thought. No wonder they kept this in the dark, hidden in back room deals.

This is NOT a credit against withheld employment taxes for employers. It is a tax only to be applied against INCOME taxes of the Corporation. … … unless the corporation happens to be a non-profit, then they can offset healthcare premium credits against employee taxes… (can you say ACORN, Community Organizers, or Churches, Mosques or SEIU?)

Personally, I think that my Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz either knew this, should have known this, or simply doesn’t care. We need to let them know that they did us dirty!!
