This was Charlie Company, 1-17th Infantry from 5/2 Stryker Brigade Combat Team. The photo was made at the Shah Wali Kot District Center. I was just hanging out talking with a good soldier while he was on guard duty.

I had the pleasure of sharing South Camp with the 1-17th Inf for six months while they did a stint with the MFO in the Sinai desert back when they were part of the old 6th Inf Div (Lt). They were a STRAC unit then and I’m sure they’ve honed the edge even sharper now.
