While the big winners in yesterday’s primary elections around the country appeared to be “women,” the big loser was easily Big Labor.
It’s believed that the SEIU purple-shirted thugs dropped wasted nearly $10m in Arkansas to try and defeat two-term incumbent Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D).
A senior White House official just called me with a very pointed message for the administration’s sometime allies in organized labor, who invested heavily in beating Blanche Lincoln, Obama’s candidate, in Arkansas.
“Organized labor just flushed $10 million of their members’ money down the toilet on a pointless exercise,” the official said. “If even half that total had been well-targeted and applied in key House races across this country, that could have made a real difference in November.”
Anything that is bad for SEIU, is almost alwasy by default going to be a very, very good thing for America.
Big Labor, on the other hand, is pissed that their attempts to buy even more political clout from corrupt politicians resulted in them being thrown under the very-crowded Obama bus:
Labor isn’t an arm of the Democratic Party‘ “If that’s their take on this, then they severely misread how the electorate feels and how we’re running our political program. When we say we’re only going to support elected officials who support our issues,” said AFL-CIO spokesman Eddie Vale. “When they say we should have targeted our money among some key house races among Blue Dog Democrats –that ain’t happening.”
Labor isn’t an arm of the Democrat party? Uh…yes it is. It’s the strong-arm of the party. Just like the MSM is the propaganda arm of the Democrat party.
The best round up of the election results (and what they mean) comes, not surprisingly, from Michael Barone:
White House political operatives are already complaining, as Ben Smith notes in Politico, that “Organized labor just flushed $10 million of their members’ money down the toilet on a pointless exercise,” [a senior White House] official said. “If even half that total had been well-targeted and applied in key House races across this country, that could have made a real difference in November.” But the unions are not just interested in maintaining Democratic majorities. They’re interested in making sure that all Democratic incumbents will vote when bidden for card check. The message they wanted to send to Blanche Lincoln, and to all other Democrats, was: the minute you announce against card check, your career is over. [. . .]
Blanche Lincoln’s (narrow) victory leaves the unions’ strategy in ruins. They can’t credibly threaten any Democratic incumbent who opposes card check with political defeat.

Most unions need to be busted.
They’re nothing more than well financed school-yard bullies.
I hope ‘card check’ never passes.
Don’t worry, they have plenty of Soros’ cash to burn. he made several billion “predicting” the economic collapse of ’08.
It was his flatulence and halitosis all over the attempt to defeat Lincoln.
Now ya’ll be careful here, I think they spent the money to make ole Blanche look like a Conservative. That 10 mil was TAXPAYER money. They have it to burn. They will do and say anything to avoid the coming electoral debacle.
Money spent by unions on political campaigns is not taxpayer money. Read a book.
