…when he should be drawing neither…

_____

Want a real kick in the pants to get your Friday morning off to a start?

You remember the Islamic terrorist who committed Jihad in Ft. Hood against his fellow Soldiers, Nidal Hasan, right? Well, that murdering traitor is still drawing more than $6K a month in military pay while he sits in jail awaiting trial.

That’s tax dollars — yours and mine, going to this man.

BELTON — As he sits in the Bell County Jail, accused of the Nov. 5 Fort Hood shooting that left 13 dead, Maj. Nidal Hasan continues to receive his monthly U.S. Army paycheck, which based on his rank and experience is probably more than $6,000.

Now, I understand “due process” and “innocent until proven guilty” as much as the next guy — but this is a slap in the face to the victims of Hasan, the Ft. Hood community, and the 42% of us who actually pay taxes in this country.

I remember when I was in the Army, that a lot of my buddies who were disciplined with an Article 15 often forfeited up to half their pay as part of their punishment. I guess I just assumed that the Army had already done something similar with this PoS.

There is some good news though — his bank (Bank of America) will no longer accept his direct deposit checks:

But Hasan, charged with a shooting spree that shocked the country, is not a standard defendant. And he’s having a hard time finding a bank to take his money.

According to his civilian attorney John Galligan , Bank of America notified Hasan last month that it was closing his account and no area bank so far has agreed to open an account for the Army psychiatrist. Military regulations require soldiers to be paid through direct deposit, making a bank account indispensable.

“I think it’s just another example of the prejudice that he’s been exposed to,” Galligan said. “It’s money that he’s entitled to, that he has a right to.”

Hasan’s attorney sounds like a real piece of work. Any sound bites that try to portray his murdering terrorist client as a victim (poor baby’s been “prejudiced against…”) turn my stomach and make me hope that Mr. Galligan goes broke and eventually dies alone in a homeless shelter.

Every penny of Hasan’s pay (until he’s found guilty and then immediately dragged outside, lined up against a wall and shot until he’s dead) should be held in an account to be used to help the families of his victims.

  1. Prejudice?! PREJUDICE?!
    WTF?!
Yes, all money after the minute he committed that atrocity SHOULD be given to the families of the victims and he should be set on fire.
This is an outrage that he has any support what so ever.
I hope his damn money sits in his house then and somebody sets his house on fire and burns it all up. I don’t agree with Arson but this guy deserves NOTHING but a painful horrible death to show other terrorists that we DO NOT PUT UP WITH OUR HEROS BEING KILLED.
    Anger is an understatement here…

  2. I don’t know why BOA has closed his account or why any other bank would refuse him an account. That very action could warrant investigation for wrong doing by BOA and any other bank. However, and this is where you and I will part in opinion, Maj. Hassan has the same presumption of innocence afforded to him as, I hope, you or I have. Until he has been tried and found guilty in a courts marshal and had his pay forfeited then he is entitled to the same rights in pay as anyone else. The army may now have to cut a paycheck that he will have to endorse by him, an added cost for care of Maj. Hassasn billed to the taxpayer.

    • It’s a formality.
He is guilty…and a disgusting POS.

    • The presumption of innocence is in a court of law. Those of us not sitting as jurors in his murder case are not required to suspend all common sense and pretend he is not guilty.

And any money going to him should be seized for restitution to his victims.

      • Nooo..he was caught and shot redhanded as they say [in this case literally] Frankly I’m surprised it wasn’t arranged for him to go into a gp population somewhere, where it would be easy to get his ass shanked for a carton or Marlboro’s

    • Ell, I get what you’re getting at. But it’s not the same for “you and me.”

If I murder 13 people and am sitting in a jail cell here in Travis County awaiting trial, I promise you that my current employer is not going to keep cutting me a check every two weeks in the mean time.

      • Just between us it’s a grand stand by his lawyer, a “look at the poor pitiful discriminated against Muslim” pure BS. This is a very, very minor problem that any lawyer worth their salt can handle. Besides, this is the least of the Major’s, soon to be reduced to E-1 and forfeit all pay, problems.

    • ELL857, I am a LT’s wife, my husband is a MP here at FT HOOD and I along with all the poor victims and family had to endure this horrible trajedy and your comment litterally makes me want to puke, he had NO rights, I really wish the DA police officers bullet would have killed him instead of paralizing him… He should NOT have pay and I stand behind BOA and all the other banks, If you or a family memember was in the military you would understand!!!!!!

  3. What this jihadi’s lawyer is concerned with is how he will get paid.
Also, his not being to access his funds means he won’t be able to donate to any other muslim organizations that might support jihad, like his spiritual mentor Anwar Al Alaki.
I doubt BoA is on shaky ground here, as there are many banks that will open an account for him.

    • Apparently, none of those banks are in the Ft. Hood vicinity. Even the main bank on post denied him.

      Good for them all.

      • I forgot to mention I agreed with you that all his pay should be held while his trial is pending.
As for all the local banks refusing him an account, I’m sure his lawyer will find one of those banks that accepts a ‘matricular consular’ as the only ID needed to open an account.

    • I laughed at his attorneys contention that he won’t be able to “make his car payment.”

Uh…I don’t think that guy has to worry about his car. Unless there are cars in Hell, he’s driven his last vehicle already.

His car should be repo’ed and donated by the dealership to one of his victims’ families who needs a car.

      • HA!
        His car payment?
Even if he were to ever set his murderous ass in it again, he will need his funds to equip it for a paraplegic driver.
While the officer who shot him is to be commended for halting his jihad, I just wish she had been able to place one last shot a little higher.

        • That IS the one true justice, that he can’t use his pecker ever again…
Hmmm, for a nutcase jihadist..does that mean he won’t be able to use it for his 72 virgins if he loses it in life?
          I sure hope so…

        • Well, since he didn’t die a martyr, he doesn’t get his 72 goats/raisins/virgins, or whatever else they are promised.
He gets diddly. With the exception of, most likely, life in prison. It has been quite a while since anyone in the military has been executed.

        • goat/raisins…LMAO!!!!
Life, ok…he really deserves the death penalty…in my mind, he “infiltrated” on purpose to move up the ranks and destroy as many of our soldiers as possible, pure jihad..
          GRRRR!
I wish I could pass for one of them and infiltrate and blow up Osama Bin Fuckface..and his cronies…

  4. The moment he opened fired on his fellow Soldiers, he became an enemy combatant and no longer a member of the United States Army.

He should receive zero pay (unless proven innocent, then give him back pay) and should be put to death within minutes of his guilty verdict.

That’s what would happen in a sane and just world.
