Obama and Blagojevich

Bird of a feather...

Interesting amusing Sad editorial from the folks at the Chicago Sun-Times over their previous support and endorsement of disgraced former Governor Rod Blagojevich.

However, if you simply replace the name “Blagojevich” with “Obama,” the article would ring almost just as true.

If the latest farcical revelations from the Rod Blagojevich trial tell us anything, it’s that the people of Illinois — that would be us — twice elected a narcissistic goof of a governor who was all show and no substance.

The man was an empty suit, albeit a $5,000 custom-made Oxxford empty suit.

Which didn’t stop them from electing a narcissistic goof of a Senator who was all show and no substance, either. As one commenter at the Sun-Times blasts their local rag: “That you doubled down on Obama simply proves one can’t fix stupid.”

Blagojevich and his wife blew $400,000 on clothes alone in the six years he was governor, while he disparaged and largely ignored the actual business of governing.

It is a lesson we hope to remember (OK, yeah, we endorsed Gov. Rod twice) as we size up the current race for governor between incumbent Pat Quinn and state Sen. Bill Brady:

Character counts before all else. Real accomplishments count.

Sound like any other politician you’ve heard of who was also groomed by the Chicago Machine? Go read the entire editorial, and try to remember that they’re talking about Blago, and not Obambi.

Hot Air noticed the similarities, too:

While we don’t have the same criminal issues arising at the federal level — yet — the incompetence, self-absorption, and disdain for the actual responsibilities of the job are all there, too.
