It’s been fairly big news around town here in Austin, and it seems to have gone viral — so just a few thoughts on UFC fighter Roger Huerta knocking the fuck out of some low-life, thug douchebag on 6th St. a couple of weekends ago.

In case you missed it — TMZ released a video showing a large group of people on 6th Street on a typical Saturday night. Out of nowhere a large (6′ , 240 lb) black man comes up behind a woman and lays her out with a solid right hook sucker punch to the side of her face that floored the woman.

Seconds later, a small (5′ 9″, 155 lb) white dude approaches the woman-assaulting street tough, and asks him if he just punched that woman. To which the tough guy mouthed off, ““Fuck you, fuck these bitches, I’ll knock out any fuckin’ bitch that I wanna fuckin’ knock out, I’ll knock your fucking bitch ass out.”

Rashad Bobino

Rashad Bobino (44) getting beat by a OSU player. Which, as it turns out, is not nearly as bad as getting beat by a UFC fighter...

The thug in question, as it turns out, is (allegedly) former University of Texas football player Rashad Bobino, who played linebacker for the Longhorns from 2005-2008. He was a member of the Atlanta Falcons for one year, but never saw the field.

I’m sure when this giant of a man and elite athlete saw a tiny little white dude squaring off against him, he thought he’d be as easy to knock out as a defenseless and unaware woman. Though the video misses the actual fight — it apparently only took the pro fighter about 15 seconds to leave the much larger woman-beater leakin’ and snoozin’ in the street in a pool of his own blood.

Which goes to show just how dangerous a trained fighter can be. Bobino almost 100 pounds on Heurta, and didn’t last 15 seconds.

I’m with UFC President Dana White on this — Roger Huerta is a hero, and “…if you put your hands on a woman, you deserve to get knocked the fuck out.”

Hopefully, Dana White puts Roger on an upcoming UFC card — like UFC 118. It’s be a good opportunity to reward Huerta for doing the right thing, and would likely draw a ton of new UFC viewers who don’t typically watch the fighting championships. A dream match up would be to have Huerta face off against Bobino (who you just know is sitting at home running his thug mouth off about how he could beat the shit out of that little white boy if he had another chance) in a 3 round fight (that wouldn’t last 30 seconds).

  1. I saw that video from the corner of my eye last night.
It’s even better now knowing the background of the thug who cold-cocked that woman.

/btw, 23 days until college football starts

  2. I don’t think he is currently under contact with the UFC, I’m kinda sure he fighst for Belator. No UFC 118 for him. However, Roger Huerta is a BAMF and did the right thing. Bobino stats show he was a 238 pound giant and Huerta fights at the 155 lightweight class. I’m sure he did not expect that ass whippin from such a little guy.

  3. I’m with Dana..anyone who hits a woman like that..NEEDS to be knocked the fuck out. Or introduced to intercranial bleeding.

  4. Excellent video. Hitting whites (women and men) on the head from behind, with no provocation, is apparently a new fad among inner-city blacks. I have read of numerous such attacks in Baltimore, MD and Minneapolis, MN. I mentioned this video to my younger son’s boxing instructor (currently a Hispanic American). While I don’t want my kids looking for trouble, I want them to handle it when it finds them.

  5. If it’s legal to carry in Texas, and you are struck on the head, turn around and shoot your assailant.

    • Yes, if you are licensed to carry a concealed weapon, you can definitely shoot somebody who attacks/assaults you if you are afraid for your life and your intention is to stop the threat.

      • Not only might you be saving your own life, you might be saving that of a the next victim.

  6. Sheila, do you have any references or links about the new fad? Thanks

  7. Braden, it’s been months since I read of this. I can’t find where I read of the incidents in MN, but I found a couple on Baltimore – check out Color of Crime (August 10) and A Race Against Time (June 2).
