Count me in the camp of those who think the time to clarify the 14th Amendment has come. Rewarding those who break our laws by entering our country illegally can now longer be allowed.
I think that if it were put to a wide-open national vote tomorrow, by the time the sun set, anchor babies would no longer be the law of the land — just my gut feeling tells me that it would pass by more than 60%.
As Republican members of Congress press for changes to the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, preventing automatic citizenship for babies born to illegal immigrants, opponents insist the debate is not really about babies.

Instead, they say it is about politics and votes – not fixing the immigration system.
Still, the debate could resonate in Texas, where not only 1.5 million illegal immigrants are estimated to reside but at least 60,000 babies are added to their households annually.
The 14th Amendment contains this language: “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”
Note the key part: “subject to the jurisdiction thereof”. From Wikipedia:
The author of the 14th Amendment Citizenship Clause, Senator Jacob M. Howard, stated, in reference to the Amendment, “This will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens, who belong to the family of ambassadors, or foreign ministers accredited to the Government of the United States, but will include every other class of persons.”
It seems most likely that the amendment was not nor does it necessitate granting birthright citizenship to the children of illegal aliens. So let’s stop doing it. Simple as that.

That number is astonishing.
I wonder if they will be able to change the 14th amendment and why wasn’t this done a long time ago?
Didn’t Canada do that when the Japenese were integrating in the same way? They changed their anchor baby low to prevent the same illegal swarm.

Parkland Hospital, a public hospital in Dallas, is quite proud of its claim that it is ranked #2 in the world for delivering the greatest number of babies per year. A large majority of the babies delivered at Parkland are born to illegal immigrants. Buses routinely pick up illegal immigrants in border towns and bus them directly to Parkland Hospital for free health care (free for the illegal immigrants, that is, but at the expense of those who are here legally).
But if you are a citizen, live in Plano and go to Parkland with a medical emergency, they will track you down for full payment.
Not only that, but the amount that you — as a legal citizen — would be charged for health care services is astronomically higher because you must pick up the tab for all the illegal immigrants and other deadbeats who abuse the system.
Strangely, there are a large number of people who just do not seem to understand that when health care services are provided free of charge to illegal immigrants, not only are we rewarding a group of people for breaking the law, but we are also punishing the law-abiding citizen by increasing the costs of services. Hospitals would go out of business if they did not bring in enough money to cover administrative costs, so when one group of people does not pay, the cost of services billed to citizens must be greatly increased to meet expenses.
The saddest part of all this is that there are plenty of hard-working, law-abiding citizens who cannot afford to obtain health care for themselves and their families due to the continual increase in health care costs to cover the deficit incurred by deadbeats; so too many citizens simply go without health care. Yet, while they go without care, the taxes they pay ensure that the deadbeats and lawbreakers do receive care. It is sickening. Even more sickening is that they transport illegals by the busload to Parkland to provide free health care services while legal citizens here in the metroplex go without care.
