Rep. Diana Maldonado, D-TX HD-52, HD 52

Another Obama Democrat who doesn't represent the people of Texas

State Rep. Diana Maldonado (D-HD 52) is running for re-election in one of the most conservative districts in all of Central Texas (Round Rock).

Maldonado was one of those lucky Dems who were swept into office on the coattails of Obama’s historic victory, winning by less than 1000 votes. But now that Obama has become kryptonite for Democrat candidates, Maldonado is being forced to run on her own record. Which, not-too-surprisingly goes against the grain and wishes of her Conservative district.

For instance, did you know that Rep. Maldonado was amongst a group of Democrat law makers who attempted to sneak through a bill last session to introduce a state income tax on Texans (despite the fact THAT WE DON’T WANT ONE!)? Much more at the Williamson County Conservative on Maldonado’s attempts at a stealth income tax.

Diana Maldonado’s support of the stealth income tax is just another example of her tax-and-spend approach to government. Rather than protect one of the elements that has made Texas the strongest state economy, our Representative attempted to radically change our tax structure.

Which is why I’m imploring all of my friends and colleagues who live in HD52 to get out and vote on November 2nd for a candidate who better represents you and your family, Larry Gonzalez.

  1. less than a thousand votes? Sigh..proof positive that people can be alarmingly stupid

  2. I live in her district and receive the mailings from her campaign, and no where is her party affiliation noted. It’s not on her roadway signs, either.

Guess she’s hoping there are enough Williamson county voters as stupid and lazy as so many of them in Travis county and we’ll just pull the trigger on the recognizable face and name. Sorry, Diana, don’t think it will be that easy.
