So…uh…what’s been happening in the world while I was busy working today?
According to Memeorandum, the only thing that happened in the world today was the fact that far-Left wing unhinged pundit Juan Williams was fired by the even farther-left wing NPR.
Apparently Juan said something while on Fox News that all of us feel, but apparently only Juan Williams is brave enough and honest enough to say out loud: “[W]hen I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.”
A couple of things here:
- I despise Juan Williams; think he’s a bloviating asshat who hates Conservatives and our values and principles. I’m not at all upset that he was fired from NPR. Hell, I’m actually glad he was fired — not for what he said about Muslims on a Plane™ — but because it’s a crime that this no-talent hack is drawing a paycheck when at least 10% of America is out of work.
- I agree with him and I’ll say it out loud, too: Muslims on my flight always raise my alert level while I’m flying.
Now — the bad news. Fox News has jumped on the chance to torture me even more by giving Juan a $2m contract to appear on Fox News even more. Which sucks balls. At least on NPR I never had to listen to him…
But wait…there’s more good news: could this be the end of public funding for NPR? Mike Huckabee thinks it’s time to defund NPR and I agree. Ace puts it as succinctly as I would have if I had blogged this before he did:
This is NPR. I fucking pay for it. If it’s devoted to unconventional and unpopular ideas and diversity — then let’s have some, at long fucking last.
NPR is a perfect liberal bubble– supported by taxpayers against their will, designed explicitly to be offensive or condescending to 90% of those taxpayers who are involuntarily funding it, arrogant and nasty and entitled about this state of affairs, and relentlessly hypocritical. NPR is a left-liberal’s idea of “diversity” — a taxpayer-extorted fantasyland showcasing diverse opinons all the way from the center left to the hard left.
Fuck them all, make them earn their $450,000 per year pay.
Exactly.
Michelle Malkin hopes this “accelerates his journey on the ideological learning curve.” I wouldn’t hold my breath.

yeah but just think of the Anal Probing that Juan is likely to throw NPR’s way to start with? *grin*
I hate to see anyone treated unjustly and that is exactly what National Proletariat Radio did to Williams.
He quite likely has an excellent law suit against them, if he dares anger his libturd friends.
As for Williams, I seldom listened to him on Fox. I would either change channels, hit the mute or yell at him while he talked. It never once entered my mind to write Fox and demand he be fired. Just this morning on Fox, Juan was trying to get his NPR job back, as he was calling Tea Partiers “racist.”
Juan, you deserved what you got, except for the big paycheck from Fox.
Why do you think you have been fighting that flea infestation for the past decade, after frolicking with those mangy dogs at NPR?
If this finally puts NPR’s public funding in a sterilizing light and they are de-funded and forced to stand on their own as an entity, then Juan’s firing was worth it and not just a funny example of the requirement for ideological purity from doctrinaire libturds.
Now remind me, but after 9-11 were we not told to be aware and more observant of our surroundings … eff political correctness and politics time to get all these assholes out of office!
As someone noted at another site’s comment thread, Juan’s firing is “delicious schadenfreude.” He has been hoist by his own petard. I’m so glad to see some honesty about Williams from you, Robbie – he’s hardly this great trailblazing journalist of impeccable integrity, but rather your standard liberal hack with occasional moments of rationality. The multicultural pecking order in microcosm: Hispanic (Sanchez) gets fired by Jews for talking about Jews; Black gets fired by Jews for talking about Muslims. And Whites? Oh, no one cares about those guys.
Juan, go whine to Palin, Bachmann, O’Donnell, Angle, Limbaugh, Tea Partiers,…etc. And also keep complaining about being the only black analyst formerly at NPR. Welcome, to the dark side.
After watching Juan the last couple of days; I think he is having a “come to Jesus” moment. I agree with most everything you said in your blog, but Juan just got bitched slapped in the face and is slowing blinking his eyes to the new reality he finds himself in. By his own words he has been a liberal his whole life, and now he is reevaluating a life long viewpoint, and it ain’t pretty. I’d like to watch over the next few weeks to see how this plays out.
I’m still laughing at the “Muslims on a Plane” with the trademark designation…that’s funny as hell!
