Soldier saluting at Arlington National Cemetery

Rep. Jim Moran doesn't think your sacarifice and service "count."

If I ever have the misfortune to meet Virginia Congressman (D-8th) in person, I’m going to mule kick him square in his balls (metaphorically, of course, though, the more I learn about this effeminate douchnozzle, the less certain I am of that he actually has any balls).

What has the hair standing on the back of my neck this morning? This:

Virginia Congressman Jim Moran, D-8th, doesn’t think serving in the military is public service. At the October 6th meeting of the Arlington County Democratic Committee, Moran was videotaped telling fellow party members:

“What [Republicans] do is find candidates, usually stealth candidates, that haven’t been in office, haven’t served or performed in any kind of public service. My opponent is typical, frankly.”

However, Moran’s opponent happens to be Col. Patrick Murray (US Army-Ret.), who served 24 years in uniform, was deployed to four different combat zones, including Baghdad, as part of the 2007 troop surge under Gen. David Petraeus, and was even shot at by foreign combatants. If that isn’t public service, I don’t know what is.

So this asshat thinks that military service is not “public service?” But I’m sure he thinks his near 20 years of “service” in Congress is the highest form of public service — when the truth is that “service” in Congress is the biggest service-to-self there is. In fact, the 65-year old Moran has NEVER held a job in the private sector — he’s been living off of our dime his entire life.

Perhaps the most disgusting aspect of Moran’s denigration of military service — which, by the way, is the absolute highest form of service any person can give to this country, bar none — is that his district includes Arlington, VA. which includes a few places with a little bit of significance to those of us who have served. You know…places like the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery.

If anybody deserves to be fired on November 2 (and really, almost all incumbents deserve to be fired this year) it’s this thankless piece of shit.

  1. “…the absolute highest form of service any person can give to this country…”

You make it sound like they don’t get paid. With my tax dollars.

  2. They do; it’s not much…not nearly as much as that of oh, say, a Senator or a Congressman. I remember getting my first months LES — taking home $633 per month.

You make it sound like you’re an ungrateful bastard…but that’s just me.

  3. I had never heard of Jim Moron until ’06. It was at a town hall meeting he was a part of along with the traitorous Murtha.
Yeah, Jim Moron has no love or respect for our military.

  4. Robbie…yeah I can see where Moran’s comment might be a tad upsetting. Rope, Tree, Politician..some assembly required

  5. Nash..oh without a doubt the military gets paid with tax dollars. but as Robbie just beat me to the punch in saying..it’s nowhere NEAR as much as those leeches in congress make. Hell, some of our servicemen can and DO make less than I made starting out in my first foray into the private sector out of high school. Which is a goddamn disgrace AFAIC.
$630 fucking dollars? kiss a fat ladies ass! They should start them out with more money than that.

  6. I made my first foray into the private sector in ’93, and I made more than that.

  7. LET’S ALL HEAR IT FOR REP JIM MORON FROM VA.
    HIMMM, HIMM, FUCK HIMMMM
