Lyndsey Fiddler: This is why drugs should remain illegal while the Death Penalty remains the law of the land
It’s because of cases like this that I rabidly support the death penalty:
An Oklahoma woman has been charged with felony child neglect after her 10-day-old baby was killed in a washing machine.
Lyndsey Fiddler, 26, was high on drugs when she put her newborn daughter, Maggie May Trammel, in the washing machine along with the dirty laundry and started a washing cycle, local station NewsOn6 reported.
The baby’s great aunt, Rhonda Coshatt, was also in the house at the time and realized something was wrong when she saw Fiddler passed out and unresponsive on a chair with the child nowhere to be found.
After hearing a clunking noise coming from the washer, she opened the lid and found the dead infant.
There is no reason for this woman be allowed to live. There is nothing more she will ever be able to contribute to society. And we should do whatever is necessary to remove her from the gene pool.
Oh, and great-auntie Rhonda should go to prison, too, for endangering a child — as she obviously just sat there knowing that the mom was smoking meth in the house with the baby. In fact, I’ll bet you dimes to nickles that the not-so-great auntie Rhonda was just as high as mommy when theat poor baby was horrifically murdered.

Words fail to express how disgusted I am by this alleged mother’s actions.
All I can think of is that poor innocent child.

No idea — though I’m sure it’s most likely a public defender who was appointed to represent this POS. I doubt whomever is tasked with this isn’t too excited or happy about it.

Can a defendant get death for a felony in which s/he was not responsible for the murder? Yes
IF SOMEONE CAN GET DEATH FOR A FELONY WHEN NOT INVOLVED IN THE MURDER, THEN THIS WORTHLESS EXCUSE OF A MOTHER SHOULD RECEIVE DEATH AND NO LESS.
In Texas we can (and do) hand out the death penalty for accomplices under the “law of parties”.
In this case, though, the aunt may not be charged since 1) the death took place in Oklahoma, and they may not have a similar law, and 2) one would have to prove she was an accomplice (gross stupidity may not qualify).
Put here in a cement truck for an hour or so … oh wit what was I thinking she has rights!
that is very sad to hear such things. Could not even imagine opening the lid to see a baby in such a state.
You know as a soon to be mom and this hittin in my home town it sickins me to think someone can do this i would think my kids would be enough to keep me straight and keep me happy but she had 3 kids and a pretty hefty rap sheet including being arrested for meth while preg. I guess all we can do is thank god for putting that baby in a safe place now RIP MAGGIE MAE

Women in the US generally have a free pass to kill their husbands and children, sleep with their students, with minimal jail time. It’s usually an excuse like “my husband abused me” or “I was depressed” and a hall pass is given, yet if a man were to use that excuse they would be scoffed at and sent away for 40.

She shouldn’t be put to death. That would be too humane for this trash. She should be tortured mentally as well as physically for many many years. Its a shame that things like this exist. Makes me sick to my stomach.
