With grandiose visions dancing in his empty head, the current president was the featured act in the first pep rally of his bid for re-election in 2012. Those poor souls who perished in the Tucson massacre by a mad man were only props for his campaign, used much like faux greek columns.
I didn’t watch or listen to this event, I already knew, based on the Paul Wellstone Memorial, how this event would be played out and thanks to the “Malignant Narcissism” of Øbummer I have not been disappointed.
Fortunately for me/us, there are many willing to expose themselves to the empty rhetoric, soaring platitudes and self-adoration of the current president so I/we don’t have to.
I, for one, will continue to speak as clearly as possible when the Emperor is stark raving naked. I hope you’re with me for the next two years doing exactly that.

Bottom line:
Speeches and leadership are not the same thing.
Obama delivered one tonight, but failed at the other over the past three days as Pima County Sheriff Dupnik, Democrat Party leaders, and media abettors poisoned the public square with the very vitriol the president now condemns.
Right speech. Too late. Awful, awful venue.
The Messiah gave one of his most inspirational speeches to kick off this 2012 re-election that had everything except a balloon drop and confetti. The cheers and fainting was back as the mock Catholic service was performed with Father Opapa giving the message. It was a great pep rally but a really poor memorial, liberals don’t feel compassion.

As for uniting the Country, perhaps he should have tried a mea culpa on the excessive rhetoric rhetoric or saying to stop blaming the Tea Party, course he may have got booed off the stage for that. After reading a good text with dramatic poses he left the stage like a Rock Star…… DROP THE &%*&%#%& BALLOONS!!!
There are many, many other perspectives on this launching of the Øbummer 2012 campaign, some of which even considered the speech he read from the TOTUS as quite good, irrespective of the staged event.
One of which from TPC mentions Øbummer’s temporary lifting of the ban on religious expression.
After Obama’s speech, news commentators asked Vice President Joseph Biden if the Great Leader was acknowledging a Higher Power.
“Let’s not get carried away here” said Biden. “his acknowledgement of a Supreme Being is not a denial that he is the Supreme Being”.
Mr. Biden did not rule out the possibility that the passage from Obama’s speach “Right after we went to visit, a few minutes after we left her room, . . . Gabby opened her eyes for the first time” would be added to the Bible.
Last night’s event has been examined from every conceivable angle and thoroughly covered. The bully pulpit affords the president that exposure.
The burning questions I am left with have yet to be answered; did Øbummer take the opportunity to visit the U.S.-Mexico border for the first time since he was so near, and if not, why not?

The words that Obama read from the teleprompter were actually not bad. But the man cannot fake sincerity, and I knew that all of the words coming out of his mouth were lies or he did not intend to honor.

I made the mistake of watching it..in part anyway. I ended up flipping while much of the speech making was going on…because otherwise I would have had to puke. As you say…that wasn’t a memorial…it was a never to be sufficiently damned, political pep rally. Did you see the look on MEchelle’s face? She wanted to be anywhere but there..she could have cared less and it showed. It was beneath her. bitch.
I hadn’t seen Moochelle’s expression until a little while ago, as I scanned a slide show of the campaign event.
Same expression I usually see, angry, dour, petulant and lacking grace.

Last night was the formal declaration of his re-election campaign, complete with a new(or slightly modified) slogan.
My daughter and I watched this disgusting occurrence last night. I wanted to change the channel, but it was like watching a train wreck and I couldn’t change the channel — mostly because I was in such shock of the pep rally nature of the event. Obama is repulsive in every manner. He is not a great orator and anyone who states he is is full of crap. I couldn’t help but imagine what a classy, tasteful, memorial service this would have been with a leader like George W Bush or Ronald Reagan. I can’t remember what Obama said during his speech for those fallen at Ft. Hood. Anyone else remember? Oh that’s right … he didn’t give a rat’s ass, did he?

Well, I too do not know about that, but I do recall seeing, a couple of months ago, an editorial cartoon or two, about him at the border……but I don’t recollect if the artist was drawing on an actual happening or not…..
Say! I just learned, at the very end of this article, that the little girl’s parents gave some of their daughter’s organs to another little girl in the area! That just blows me away no end…..

Yes, the speech itself was very good. Actually made him seem to care for a change…BUT, at the same time I was also thinking “Who wrote it for you, barry ?”…That’s got campaign 2012 All Over It.
And What the hell are people doing cheering at a memorial service and providing t-shirts ?
I think even obama wasn’t expecting the cheering during his speech at an event like this.
He had his chance to step up and tell the folks that were cheering and yelling to pipe down because this event wasn;t about him. He chose not to do so because he loves and craves the attention. One more nail in his coffin for 2012.

Beltway Bob [Gibbs] said that the administration had no idea that the “memorial” would turn out like it did. Um-hum. Now the university is claiming that the disgusting t-shirts with the campaign logo “Together We Thrive” was a logo dreamed up by a university student, and that the t-shirts were ordered by the campus book store from a company in California. Um-hum.
So let’s take a look at reality, shall we (my having been in the t-shirt business for 15 years): the shooting was Saturday, so let’s assume that the shock prevented the students involvement in t-shirt ordering that day. The design had to be drawn, submitted to a company in California, the silk screen machine had to be programmed to print the logo, then printed, boxed and shipped to Arizona. ALL IN FOUR DAYS. Now, if you want to tell me that 20,000 t-shirts could be ordered, printed, boxed and shipped from California to Arizona in FOUR damn days, I am going to tell you that you don’t know jack about the silk screen industry or shipping.
So we are also to believe that a student dreamed up the logo, according to the university statements, right? Well, there is a slight problem with that story considering this:

And maybe you can tell us why there were large screen TVs inside the hall that was showing “celebrities” as they entered and that it was complete with programs, bumper stickers and open concession stands?
This was NOT a memorial. It was a campaign kick off and rally. And any American who wasn’t sickened by the lack of respect shown to those who were murdered, and their families, is nothing more than a political prostitute.
