Sen. Robert Ford (D-SC): “Brothers Won’t Work Hard Like Mexicans”

Wow. Just when I thought that Shelia Jackson Lee was the dumbest person elected to office in the entire United States, this genius comes along.

I’m a little surprised that this isn’t getting more play — in fact, I never saw anybody, Left or Right, discussing it over on Mememorandum.

South Carolina Senator Robert Ford is a pro-illegal immigrant advocate. Why? Because, as he claims, they work harder than the brothers.

“We need these workers here. A lot of people aren’t going to do certain type of work in this country,” Ford said. “The brothers are going to find ways to take a break. Ever since this country was built, we’ve had somebody do the work for us.”

That’s right. He just called black people lazy.

“Americans are not going to do no hard, hard work,” said Senator Robert Ford. “The foundation right now for industry going to be laid by Mexican workers. That’s a matter of fact. Now, they got some people upset about that? They better learn American history and they better get a life.”

“I go out there every day and watch the workers,” said Ford. “All of that dirt, all of the digging, all of the piling, that’s Mexican workers.”

Ford said “brothers” don’t work as hard as Mexicans, and then followed that comment with, “blue-eyed brothers” don’t either.

“All the media call me, ‘Oh, Senator Ford, you should apologize,’” he said. “For what? Americans not going to do no work. The hard work is always done by new immigrants. In this case they happen to be a Mexican, Mexican immigrants, and I’m fighting like hell to make sure they stay here and become citizens. And then once they become citizens, they not going to do no hard work, either.”

And there, in a rotting nut shell, is the genius of the Liberal mind: “fighting like hell” to keep them here and make them citizens, even knowing they’ll become worthless Democrat voters living off the government once they are.

If a Republican had said this, regardless of race, they would have had to resign faster than (former) Rep. Chris Lee can take his shirt off and snap a sexy self-portrait in the mirror.

Of course, this isn’t a bigger story because 1) He’s black, and it’s still perfectly acceptable to be a racist in this country as long as you are black, and 2) He’s a Democrat; a Republican, regardless of color would have been beaten to death by the righteous anger of Rev. Al Sharpton and his race hustling cronies, and 3) there might be a little truth to what he’s saying.

“Nobody do no hard work, not Americanized,” said Ford. “Americans do not do hard work, period.”

Set aside for a moment the fact that the man appears to be functionally illiterate, with a grasp of the English language on par with a somewhat retarded dog. From a different country.

Ford has been a member of the South Carolina Senate since 1993. Prior to that he was a member of the Charleston City Council from 1974 to 1992. Which means that he has been living off the public teat his entire life, without once ever earning an honest days pay for an honest days work.

Americans do not do hard work, period? Me thinks thou does project too much, Mr. Ford.

I’ll bet you he’s been re-elected repeatedly thanks to minority-majority gerrymandered districts. Which means that the very blacks that he is insulting are the ones who keep re-electing his worthless ass back into office. And the best part? They’ll do it again next time he’s up for re-election.
