If you have a clue what's going on in Egypt, or what to do next...raise your hand. Uh huh...that's what we all thought.
The Obama lapdogs over at Politico are reporting that the finger-pointing begins on Egypt from within the White House.
Well of course it has…that’s what this president and his team have been doing since the day they took office. Of course, most of that finger pointing has been at President Bush…which means that they’ve finally found something that they can’t find a way to pin on G-dub:
The debate over who “lost” Egypt seems to have begun.
Critics are openly questioning the quality of information and analysis given to President Barack Obama by U.S. intelligence agencies in the days leading up to the dramatic uprising against Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. And they are raising questions about the effectiveness of his efforts to force the 82-year-old strongman to step down.
Administration officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, admit that some mistakes were made and some signals were missed. And, even as they frantically try to negotiate Mubarak’s departure and avert more violence, they argue that their options and leverage would have been limited even had Obama been warned long in advance of the unrest that would sweep Egypt.
Remember back when Congress passed a resolution authorizing the United States to declare war on Iraq? Based off of what turned out to be somewhat faulty intelligence sources? Of course you do — the media and Democrats spun it into the dishonest “Bush Lied, People Died” meme. But those very same Dimocrats are covering Obama and Hillary’s backsides when they are the “victims” of faulty intelligence:
But on Thursday Senate Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) pointedly challenged analysts over the quality of information Obama was given in the days leading up to the uprising.
“The president, the secretary of state and the Congress are making policy decisions on Egypt, and those policymakers deserve timely intelligence analysis,” Feinstein said.
“I have doubts whether the intelligence community lived up to its obligations in this area.”
In other words: Bush received faulty intelligence = Bush lied about reasons for going to war; Obama received faulty intelligence about the situation in Egypt = blame the faulty intelligence.
The commenters at Politico get it:
Think the problem many Americans have with the Obama administration is Obama’s inability to control his own personal ego. Why, as an example, does he have to go public — world wide — to make pronouncements, which might be much more effective in a back channel or private setting.
Obama appears to be afflicted with a narcissistic personality disorder that gets him in trouble, time and time again. His public pronouncements on Egypt are just another disruptive example.
And:
The inexperience, the incompetence and ineptitude of Obama and his administration are center stage in one of the biggest crisis in the middle east we’ve seen since Iran fell to the allatollahs.
No preparation, no idea what they are doing and no clue what to do next.
And, “2AM again ……………and look who is not answering the Phone.”
